Fade to Bluegrass is a Metallica tribute record done by a blue grass band called Iron Horse. It's actually pretty good.

If they were to do one, it'd probably come out before Legend III:II. Poor Eric, makes one wonder if he'll ever finish it the way things have been going for him.

I remember that there was going to be years ago a death metal Doors tribute record called Universal Grind, but The Doors lawyers put a stop to it.

I think Carl Johan Grimmark would take acception to that (he was on their last album and supposed to be on the final one).

Though it can only be counted as a fraction of a cover album, what about Dream Theater-Change Of Seasons? They did some cool medlies and awesome covers of Perfect Stragers, and Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding (would have loved it if they included some of the other covers like the ones with Steve Howe, Marillion, and Barney Greenway). I know there are bootlegs out there, but I think DT should do a whole cover album of various artitsts or release the full version of that live performance (especially since a lot of Portnoy's bootlegs are out of print).
