to me whiplash is where it began its by far there most aggresive and energetic song although many of their catalogue come close IMO

S and D is a bona fide metal classic but is it thrash? IMO its not really, battery has never been a favourite of mine in terms of metallica but it is still a great song, there are just songs i like more
