| Metallica-Master Of Puppets is definatly my favorite out of all those (this is one of the rare occasions where I have heard all the albums in the poll) with Anthrax-Among The Living a pretty close second. The more I listen to Megadeth-Rust In Peace, the more I like it but I still prefer Countdown and United Abominations. I haven't listened to Slayer-Reign In Blood in years (mainly due to the overly satanic lyrics) but I really like the metal contained therein. | |

| Master of Puppets. It was tough to pick against Rust in Peace, but it's Metallica in their prime. | |

| I picked Metallica's MOp, because out of all those albums thats the only one i really enjoy. Slayer is one band i cannot get into, i like maybe a dozen songs from them but they are all of the slow paced ones and i think South of Heaven is there best release.
Anthrax would come in second out of this list, i like a lot of there material.
Megadeth would be third but my favorite releases from them were Countdown and Youthanasia. I was never big on Megadeth and there thrash sound. When they slowed it down they became one of my favorite bands.
Metallica's first 4 albums imo blow away anything any of those other bands did.

| "Reign in Blood" by far!!! I was never really big on the other 3. Slayer to me just had everything in thrash that I liked back then, evil, angry and aggressive. | |

- This poll would have been easy if it actually included the real peak album for Megadeth, which is clearly Peace Sells.
Peace Sells was not their peak album. it may be your personal favorite, but not their peak album. i'm willing to bet that most metal fans would disagree with you. most would pick Rust In Peace. (not counting kmorg ) Peace Sells... is a GREAT album. I might even pick it as my favorite, depending on the day of the week. However, I don't think that Megadeth went downhill after this release at all. Well, Metallica did not go "downhill" after Master of Puppets either - ...And Justice for All is my all-time favourite Metallica disc..It was the first CD I ever bought at the age of 11 - I remember playing "Blackened" three times before even bothering to play the other mind-blowing tracks.

| I choose Megadeth out of those four choices. My reason is due to the fact that Megadeth kicked it up a notch with new players and didn't skip a beat. Poland had that tone but he was hit and miss onstage with consistency of delivery. If I want sloppy leads in my thrash, I'll go see a Slayer show. | |

| Ride the Lightning.
But of the choices given, I'll go with "Among the Living."
"Rust in Peace" trails just behind... |

| RIP was never even my favourite Megadeth, Peace Sells was/is. I'll range those four as: MOP (basically the only 'tallica worthy of their hype today) ATL RIB RIP |

| After much deliberation, I have chosen Among the Living. What a great album. But I could have gone with Reign In Blood. That album darkened my life in a good way. Master of Puppets was my first foray into "thrash", but it hasn't stood the test of time as well as the other 2. Rust in Peace , in my opinion, is a horrible album. The beginning of the end of a once great band. |

| Out of the choices given I would go with Megadeth. I really really love that album. Personally I think So Far So Good So What was hindered by Mustaine's personal life. There are some good good hooks and solos but that album seems blurred to me.....like it could have been better than it actually was. Hook In Mouth though........one of my top 5 favorite Megadeth tunes.
Anthrax ties it for me with Spreading and Among as their peak albums. I think they both peaked but for different reasons. Spreading was a classic thrash album with some power metal overtones (gunslinger and medusa come to mind) whereas Among totally captured the term "MOSH".
Ride The Lightning would be my choice for Metallica. Even though I think their best album ever was Kill Em All. Master of Puppets is a good album and they finally developed thier true sound with this album. Personally I think because they ran out of Mustaine riffs. So in a way I guess as a songwriting unit they did peak with Master.
Slayer nailed it with Reign In Blood. Hell Awaits was precursor of things to come. 23 minutes (give or take) of pure evil, metal mayhem. It was this album that really made me a Slayer fan back in the day. Show No Mercy is a classic too and a fine effort of early speed metal but for me RIB completely turned the trash and speed metal world on its ear.

| I've gotta go with Metallica though on any given day I prefer Ride the Lightning slightly more. RtL contains my fave Metallica tunes, title track, Creeping Death, Fade to Black, and my favorite metal instrumental: KTULU! | |

| Right Now I think Anthrax's ATL smokes all these albums just because RIP has been on the shelf for quite sometime now and after every guitar player I know learning songs of MOP I've currently grown tired of it and RIB I never really ever thought of as Slayer's "peak" Of course this may all change by next month but right now I feel like grabbing my Jackson V and thrashing out to ATL | |
