I believe that would have to be Metallica for me. Tons of great American Metal bands and 1 is really hard to pick but considering everything that Metallica has accomplished good and bad they have always been a great band.

Stryper-The only band where I feel the need to collect everything or anything put out by them.Granted I love the old days of dual harmonizing guitars and the high pitched screams but really I'll buy anything they put out(example-Reborn)
