Nevada Beach - Zero Day

Nevada Beach was a total blind buy. Never heard of them, but it was a 1990 release on Metal Blade and the band pic was a buncha long-hairs. Listening to it now. They have a kinda AC/DC vibe. Not bad for a buck.

I have that Nevada Beach. Definitely in the AC/DC sleaze hard rock category.

My favorite song on there is Action Reaction.

What do you make of that one, Shiney? I saw them live, opening for Motorhead and the band was ok, but the lead "singer" was god-awful. Not only were his vocals horrid, he rolled around on the stage like a spazz and made weird rants in between songs. Is their studio stuff any better?

I like the cds...a bit political ranty in the lyrics department, which is not my usual thing, but the style of music they play is some odd THIN LIZZYish/MOTORHEADy concoction of fuzz rawk. And the vocals are decent on disc.

For Record Store Day -

First a sad story about my attempt to get the exclusive Slayer vinyl. Get to the store early with one guy in line. Took a phone call and since I didn't want to be that annoying guy in public yakking away on his phone I stayed in my car only to have a couple of emo-ish dudes get in line ahead of me. No problem, I think, based on the look of them (would've bet money on them grabbing the Taking Back Sunday). Of course they get in there and all three snag the Slayer records and any of the others (minus the ones I thought they'd go for). Strangely nobody went for the Heaven & Hell.

Did get some things used though and two free samplers.

Warlock - Triumph And Agony not sure why I've never had this before on disc
Lawnmower Deth - billy this was a shocker to me. One why I decided today I needed Lawnmower Deth in my collection. And two why I thought these guys would be death or even grind-ish. The name or it being on Earache in 93 perhaps. All I can say is after my initial shock - this is some killer fun power punk. Great stuff.

I then went to a used bookstore that was also participating in Record Store Day. No exculsive vinyl but one dollar off used CDs. So for about five dollars each

I'm sure that material has made its way onto bootleg CD, or is floating around somewhere as a download by now.
