| How about supporting these artists instead of stealing their work? | |

| I'm tired of paying for cable, do you know how to break into the box so I can hook myself up for free? Thanks in advance! |

| Not only is this totally lame, but the site seems to be geared toward really stupid pirates. The kind who have eye-patches over both eyes. | |

| I didnt download anything off this page but I have downloaded on other sites over the years so I could find new bands, get a hold of something thats been long out of print, demos or bootleg live shows. I dont think downloading is bad as long as you eventually buy what you like, but I know the majority of downloaders wont do that which is unfortunate for musicians like myself and others. I cant even imagine how many times my album has been downloaded and ive seen it on sites and I think do I ask them to take it down or leave it there to get people to hear it. In one way its good that we might gain some fans but it hurts our pockets. _________________ | |

| Downloading isn't so bad in moderation. I like to check bands out this way. I'll also download imports first, that way I can hold off until the import prices drop a bit, or hopefully the band secures a US deal.
However, that site hasn't been updated in a year. All those links will be dead links. |

| There are tons of sites like this. I know people have brought several to my attention that have Into the Pit for free download. It's cool to one extent that someone may check us out who otherwise might not be able to. However, sites like this really hurt independent bands and small labels who barely make enough to survive as it is. I suppose if you just use a site like this to check out a band, it could be a good thing. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| A person or persons could set up a site that has music for folks to check out with the permission of the artists included on the site. Not to difficult to contact musicians, labels, or mngt. That would be kewl. I am not finger pointing at anyone in general but stealing is stealing. If you owned a restaurant and people came in and sampled your food and left after eating only part of the meal without paying, would that be kewl ? They may have had no other way to sample your stuff or they wanted to wait for the price to go down. Geeesh what a joke | |

I'm the same way. I've pinched some rare/out of print/never released on CD/bootleg (take your pick) stuff off of those blog sites on occasion. A while back I checked out that Heathen's Rage EP that Ult has mentioned numerous times on this board and y'know what? It's pretty damn good stuff! But the only way to get it on CD is to buy a bootleg, which the band obviously isn't going to see any money from anyway. Therefore I had no qualms about downloading it. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| The bands don't make anything off of the CDs traded or bought second hand from yard sales or off of eBay, etc. The only way buying music profits the bands are sales at the shows, Sites like iTunes, or in the stores (good luck finding anything good in a store these days). Buying a disc from somebody for a buck or two off of the internet doesn't support the bands in any way other than the recognition and the chance that they may get you to purchase a legit copy or a ticket to a show and a T shirt. The industry has really changed these past few years and CD sales are not the bands bread and butter anymore. Now it comes down to the merch tables at shows and constant touring if they can do it. Sad days for musicians these days. | |
