I am but I only know Doom Of Destiny which was one of my top 10 albums last year. I sent some samples to PRD and Toho and while they liked the music, they hated the vocalist (PRD asked if he was singing through his nose). I don't think of his voice as nasally but it is pretty rhaspy. While I can see why people don't like the vocals, I dont mind them because the music is superb IMO.

Great to see an Axxis thread. First post for me, I've been lurking for quite some time now, but thought this was a good time to sign up to post.
Anyway, Axxis, I'm a fan but somewhat recent I have to say. I think it was 2006 or 2007 when I picked up Back to the Kingdom after hearing some samples online. I absolutely loved it, it's still my favourite Axxis album, a perfect 10/10 and one of the best metal albums of the 21st century so far. My favourite track off it is Flashback Radio, I guess. Since then I've also picked up Kingdom of the Night, the Big Thrill, Paradise in Flames and the latest one, Doom of Destiny. I was also fortunate enough to catch them live when they were touring to support the album. All the albums I've bought are awesome, but from what I've read they do have a few stinkers, so choose wisely (or sample lots) before buying.

About Bernhard Weiss, I do like his voice. Not the most powerful ever, but unique anyway. But of course the biggest reason I like Axxis is the infectious songwriting.

While I wouldn't call Axxis a Christian metal band, they do have a fair amount of Christian songs. Not preaching, more like touching the subject, in a positive way.
I don't remember if any Christian-specific (ie. things that cannot be interpreted as part of just ANY religion) lyrics are included though, or if it's ambiguous, so maybe it's just me, but I certainly thought songs like White Light, Only God Knows, Heaven's 7th Train, Only God Knows Me and others are quite Christian.

It's possible that some or one of the members are Christian. As is the case of Helloween (Michael Weikath).

By "God Knows Me", I meant "Will God Remember Me". Obviously.

Heard the new Axxis CD Friday night (had downloaded it thinking it was an older one but found out it is one that will be released soon). While not as good or memorable as Doom Of Destiny it is still a fine Euro-power metal platter. Also if the vocalist wasn't you're cup of tea, you still won't like them.

I've been getting more into Axxis lately. I've now bought nine of their studio albums, that's all but Matters of Survival and Voodoo Vibes, which I've avoided on purpose after reading bad reviews.
Anyway, not all of them arrived yet, I didn't get Eyes of Darkness yet and Utopia should come today or tomorrow. Back to the Kingdom is still my favourite, but they are all very good, if you're into that kind of Scorpions meet Helloween type of metal. Maybe Time Machine is the least consistent, with a couple of 'meh' tracks and The Big Thrill is the least 'metal' of them all. I don't think Axxis II matches well against their debut either, though very similar in style.

It's a shame, the downloaded one I have includes two bounus tracks which will not be on the official release (one is an awesome song with guest vocalists-the only one I knew for sure was Kai Hansen).

The two tracks are on the limited edition release. At least that's what it said when I ordered my copy. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I was listening to a lot of Axxis last night and I have to take back a bit of what I said about the Big Thrill. It's definitely just as metal as (if not more than) the first two. It's just tracks 3-6 that slow things down a bit too much, all good tracks still though. But tracks like the Wolf and especially Against a Brick Wall are awesome fast songs.
Now I have a bit of a dilemma - the two Axxis albums I don't have are the ones sandwiched between two of my favourites. What do I do? Are they really so bad? Must... hear... all... Axxis...
I guess this is where sampling online can come into play.
Anyway, the new one - really don't have an opinion yet. I've only given it two spins so far. It sounds like Axxis though, so that's a good thing. Just great to have yet another Axxis album.
The 20th Anniversary Song, for those who don't know, is a medley of some of the more memorable Axxis songs, featuring a number of guest vocalists. It's fun.

The best song on the album IMO.

I love Flashback Radio and Heaven in Black, so I was glad they worked those in it.
From the album, a stand out I've gotten into so far is Last Man on Earth. Nice melodies and just enough punch, just takes a few listens to really appreciate.
I like that other bonus track a lot, too: Taste My Blood. An instant pleaser, if a bit simple.

AXXIS has always been hit and miss w/ me...sometimes I hear a song and like it, other times I hear a song and think it sucks...weird.

Some of the music is very good, the singer just seems a weak link.

That's said about Udo, Grave Digger, King Diamond, etc. Some voices are just heard differently or are aquired tastes (i.e. no one band can please everybody).

My top twenty favourite Axxis songs:
1. Flashback Radio 2. Stay By Me 3. Touch the Rainbow 4. Better World / Livin' in the Dark 5. Lady Moon 6. Against a Brick Wall 7. Revolutions 8. Sea of Love 9. Better Fate 10. Never Say Never 11. Heaven in Black 12. Take My Hand 13. Fire and Ice 14. Young Souls 15. Ice on Fire 16. White Lights 17. Angel of Death 18. Little Look Back 19. Will God Remember Me? 20. Shadowman
Clearly that list will change a lot from day to day. Not to mention I didn't include anything from Utopia or Eyes of Darkness. I've bought Eyes of Darkness online, but it didn't arrive yet. Utopia I've given only a couple of spins so far.
I wanted to make a list now though since I've been listening to a lot of Axxis these past two weeks and have a good grasp of their back catalogue.
