Remember RANSOM?

Always wondered what happened to these guys. Tony Ortiz was a shredder. I had read that vocalist Lisa Faxom was happily married and was focused on family. Check out this interview:

Thanks for posting that Ult, Ransom was one of my favorite women fronted Christian rock/metal bands. Tony definitely shredded! I remember the first time I heard them on the various artist CD "California Metall II", wow! That girl can rock!

Another great band from the high desert of So. Calif. I have a funny story regarding them when they were still called First Aid. They were doing a soundcheck at the first His Festival and this huge swarm of flies came in from the back overhead door and swept over Lisa as she was singing. Afterwards guys in the band were asking her to go shower or use deodorant, laughing. I gave her a pencil, requesting her to draw something besides flies. Alot of fun times back then.

I have the "Hot Metal 4" VHS tape with their video for "Lasting Love" on it... cool song, never went out of my way to hear anymore of their material though.

Of the two albums it would seem that the second one (SOUL ASYLUM) is easier to find, the S/T debut appears to be a toughie to track down.

I only have a tape of Soul Asylum that I haven't listened to in a long time (the only tape player I have no longer works) and there is a song on Rock On Christian Loud that I listened to yesterday. I do have them on my wantlist because I do remember enjoying the music.
