| According to Revolver magazine, SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON will co-headline this year's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour, which is scheduled to kick off July 10 in Sacramento, California.
The festival billing is as follows:
Main Stage:
SLAYER MARILYN MANSON BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
Hot Topic Stage:
CANNIBAL CORPSE THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER JOB FOR A COWBOY BEHEMOTH WHITECHAPEL
Jägermeister Stage:
TRIVIUM ALL THAT REMAINS GOD FORBID
The dates are as follows (all dates are subject to change):
Jul. 10 - Sacramento, CA Jul. 11 - San Francisco, CA Jul. 12 - San Bernardino, CA Jul. 14 - Seattle, WA Jul. 17 - Phoenix, AZ Jul. 18 - Albuquerque, NM Jul. 19 - Denver, CO Jul. 21 - Kansas City Jul. 22 - St. Louis, MO Jul. 24 - Atlanta, GA Jul. 25 - Indianapolis, IN Jul. 26 - Chicago, IL Jul. 28 - Toronto, ON Jul. 29 - Scranton, PA Jul. 31 - Cleveland, OH Aug. 01 - Pittsburgh, PA Aug. 02 - Detroit, MI Aug. 04 - Boston, MA Aug. 06 - Virginia Beach, VA Aug. 07 - Camden, NJ Aug. 08 - Hartford, CT Aug. 09 - Washington, DC Aug. 11 - Tampa, FL Aug. 12 - West Palm Beach, FL Aug. 14 - Dallas, TX Aug. 15 - Houston, TX Aug. 16 - San Antonio, TX Slayer are rumored to play a three week tour before this with only two openers in the smaller markets they won't hit on this thing. I personally hate these types of tours as there is always only one or two bands I ever have a interest in. I would much rather see the small headlining your and get a full set instead of the festival set that would probably only be an hour. Plus it should be a hell of a lot cheaper than the fest price. I dig Slayer and can see why they would want to do a festival and get to play a short set but I just can't bring myself to pay the outrageous price for such a short set. That is why I would never go to an Ozzfest. What do you all think? I personally can't stand any of these bands besides Slayer. Cannibal was allright back in the early 90's but I guess I just got burnt out on them too soon or something. I mean I've heard them all besides Whitechapel but it seems all these US fests are always loaded with one or two established greats and a whole bunch of here today, gone tomorrow bands. I love Slayer and haven't missed a show anywhere near me since 88 but I don't think I will see this unless its hella cheap.

Well, Cannibal Corpse are probably the best known "death metal" band out there, due to Ace Ventura and the "controversy" they've had through their career.

| Didn't Slayer and MM tour together once already last year? Seems odd that they'd team up again so soon, doesn't it? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| The Wikipedia definition is good enough: - Quote :
- Mainstream emo (2000–present)
While Jimmy Eat World had played emocore-style music early in their career, by the time of the release of their 2001 album Bleed American, the band had downplayed its emo influences, releasing more pop-oriented singles such as "The Middle" and "Sweetness". Newer bands that sounded like Jimmy Eat World (and, in some cases, like the more melodic emo bands of the late 90s) were soon included in the genre.[16] 2003 saw the success of Chris Carrabba, the former singer of emo band Further Seems Forever, and his project Dashboard Confessional. Carraba found himself part of the emerging "popular" emo scene. Carrabba's music featured lyrics founded in deep diary-like outpourings of emotion. While certainly emotional, the new "emo" had a far greater appeal amongst adolescents than its earlier incarnations.[17] At the same time, use of the term "emo" expanded beyond the musical genre, which added to the confusion surrounding the term. The word "emo" became associated with open displays of strong emotion. Common fashion styles and attitudes that were becoming idiomatic of fans of similar "emo" bands also began to be referred to as "emo." As a result, bands that were loosely associated with "emo" trends or simply demonstrated emotion began to be referred to as emo.[18] In a strange twist, screamo, a more aggressive sub-genre of emo that began in the early 90s, also had a reformulation of sound and has found greater popularity in recent years through bands such as Glassjaw.[19] The difficulty in defining "emo" as a genre may have started at the very beginning. In a 2003 interview by Mark Prindle, Guy Picciotto of Fugazi and Rites of Spring was asked how he felt about "being the creator of the emo genre." He responded:
I don't recognize that attribution. I've never recognized "emo" as a genre of music. I always thought it was the most retarded term ever. I know there is this generic commonplace that every band that gets labeled with that term hates it. They feel scandalized by it. But honestly, I just thought that all the bands I played in were punk rock bands. The reason I think it's so stupid is that—what, like the Bad Brains weren't emotional? What—they were robots or something? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
—Mark Prindle, "Interview with Guy Picciotto". MarkPrindle.com (2003).

| um ok I guess. i know I had this discussion with some fellas at work one time and one of them was telling me about some band that did a song and then just stood on stage and cried for a good ten minutes. Whatever? I'll try and get back on my original topic and say I love Slayer but I hate these festivals. | |

| Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and Behemoth are the only good bands on the entire bill. Glad this isn't coming to Vegas. | |
