My current vehicle is a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass and it has 198,000 miles on it...and it's ready to fall apart like the scene in the Blues Brothers. they just don't make 'em like they use to.

Both have been very good with very little problems. I had a 2000 Malibu as well but crashed it. The one i have now is a 2003 Malibu and overall it's been pretty good besides a fuel pump problem when i first got it. I've never owned a brand new car, the two i've had were 1 year old pre owned so i don't feel as bad if i get scratches or dents on them as i would if they were brand new. The other two cars i had before were family hand me downs, a '83 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and a Mercury Grand Marquis.

| When my Eclipse finally becomes too expensive to maintain, I'm gettin' a truck. I'm done with this sports coupe crap. Now that I'm a homeowner, I need something that can haul stuff like mulch and massive purchases from Sams Club. A coupe just isn't practical for me anymore. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Don't know about my first car ('91 Ford Tempo) but my current car ('95 Toyota Corola) is sitting at 159,597 miles. When I got it used in 2003 it was at about 75K miles. If I hadn't dropped out of college it would be a lot more. As it is, my driving distances are minimal (which has allowed my brakes to last over two years). I want my next vehicle to be a pick-up. Then and only then will I be a real Texan. Don't you just love stereotypes? | |

HERE, HERE!!! That's my goal too. I'm so sick of cars. I need to feel like a man again. I bought a 2007 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab tp replace my 1988 GMC S15 that had 254,000 miles on it. The only reason I got rid of the GMC is that it was starting to rust in the underbelly. That engine might go on forever. The dakota is a really nice step up and it has room for 5 passengers which is nice. I dont care what people say about American cars - this thing rocks! I got hit in it and was safe and sound. The imports dont have the torque or towing capacity in a midsize truck either. Here is my truck: _________________

How are you driving these cars to blow out 4 engines? Do you change the oil or just let it burn?

| Just passed my previous car to my soon to be 16 year old son. A 1994 Toyota Corolla with 245,000 miles and no sign of slowing down. I have replaced it with a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser (grunts like Tim Allen). Love that truck! Makes me feel MANLY! :bigboy: | |

Great car. Mine is a '95 that I got used in 2001 and I'm sure it will last as long. Don't look like much on the outside though (scratced paint, rust stains in the scratches, a few long cracks in the windshiled, a few dents in the doors, old stickers faded to almost nothing, and a bumper hanging by wires). Can't wait to have a new car one of these days (with any luck I will win a 2009 Avalanche through Albertsons Monopoly game-only need one more game piece-which I will sell and buy a cheaper car so I can afford my mechanic class without too muh sacrifice).

If I didn't have young kids and need the space, I woul dhave bought an FJ cruiser instead of my highlander - those are AWESOME!!!! I do love my highlander, but an FJ cruiser would kick a**!!!!

| The most miles I have ever put on a car? Like 93,000 and change on a 2002 Mitsubishi which was purchased brand new/zero miles. This vehicle was completely reliable, other than a tune-up by the 75,000 mark (needed new spark plugs and hoses), the car never complained. Would still have it except that I wrecked it. Currently driving a '91 Chevy Lumina. Bought it at 83,000 miles and change, have since put like 21,000 miles. Car has never complained, but I did need new brakes and rotors installed on it. | |

My kids are old enough (15 and 11) to climb in and out of the suicide doors and its mostly mine to drive to work. I decided to not buy a practical vehicle. That's what my wife's van is for! And yes, my FJ does kick a**!
