| Steve Taylor's not bad - I Predict 1990 was a good album. I worked at a christian bookstore at the time and they sold it, but some of the other employees thought it was "evil" because the cover resembled a tarot card - lol. Pretty funny. The Chagual Guavara album is pretty good too - never listened to squint. Gotta love some of his lyrics - calling it like it is (bob jones university inter-racial dating ban, a lot of evangelical christanity being clones, etc.). I think WhiteCross toured with Steve Taylor back in 87.

Chagual guavara was really good it's too bad that MCA didn't promote them at all. Great high energy rock.. emphasis on HIGH energy...

| I like Stryper, and (well) I even liked "Reborn" some of the stuff wasn't realy "metal" but I'm open to that kind of thing, I mean Stryper is another all time favorite band (even one of the guy's at my church dogs me about "that one big haired band" (he's into rap, and the closest thing I've got him to like metalwise was Demon Hunter, which I feel isn't metal, but they aren't rap, right? So you win some you lose some.)
Best Stryper song: (imo) Soldiers Under Command (Love that guitar part at 3:08)

| I love Stryper! Namely because it was this band that got me into metal to begin with! A friend of mine from school burned me a copy (on cassette) of "Soldiers Under Command". I had heard nothing like this. The heaviest I had heard before was Petra (this was 1986). I was blown away. I'd sit and listen to this for hours.
One year later I bought "To Hell With the Devil" brand new and have purchased every album since.
They are actually not an all time favorite anymore, but they have a special place in my heart.
As far as "Reborn" goes - I'm with Ult. I was expecting it to sound this way based on the two new songs on "Seven". I like it, though it's not a favorite.
Favorite albums:
1. To Hell with the Devil 2. In God We Trust 3. Soldiers Under Command 4. Yellow and Black Attack 5. Against the Law 6. Reborn
Fave songs:
1. All for One 2. More than a Man 3. To Hell with the Devil 4. Calling on You 5. Free 6. Honestly 7. Makes Me Wanna Sing 8. Reason for the Season 9. Soldiers Under Command 10. In God We Trust |
