Upcoming 2009 Releases

Crying out loud enough with reissues!!!!! "Love' as a deluxe edition and the Stones re-releasing another greatest hits album!!!!! Enough release an album of b sides, another live album but enough of asking fans to rebuy the same albums over and over.

I think I'll be picking up that Therion disc.

As much as I despise the Gothic Turd, the YouTube clips I've seen of the performances of their other songs are worth the price of admission.

Yup. They did a full "Sgt. Pepper" live set at some sort of Beatles festival/convention a while back (I remember reading an announcement about it on their Facebook page).

I'll be getting that Municipal Waste and the Tenet.

I think Geoff Emerick, who engineered all of the sound effects on the original Sgt. Pepper's... asked the band to preform it for the 40th anniversary of the album. They played with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and a Joan Osborne and Aimee Mann. It's very good.

I know what you mean. I want that box set sooooo bad I can taste it. One thing I might do though is now that remasters are coming out, all of the original cd releases should go down in price on Amazon and I will pick them all up for dirt cheap. I hope anyway.

The Beatles Rock Band comes out that day too if you are a video gamer, like myself. I will definitely be buying that.

Same here. I have all of their studio releases already on cd, but the collector in me wants the full remastered set. If I were to make that purchase, I'm afraid my wife would steal a page from Fat Freddy' wife & staple my nutsack to my forehead.

me and a friend were looking up about the Beatles box set and who would have the best deal. Surprisingly enough it looked like FYE.com would have the best deal if you got the membership card. My friend went to the store and got a membership card that was free to try for a whole month and then you can cancel it before you have to make any payments. So the box was only like $169 I believe for the stereo version.

I don't like the Beatles so I won't be getting this, but I was wondering why would someone want the MONO box set if the STEREO set is complete and the other isn't, just because its limited? Whats so great about the MONO set that would make someone pass up the STEREO one?

I believe it was $179.99 on Amazon. It made more sense to buy that since I get the mini documentaries and all the other extra stuff. I probably would have ended up paying more for them individually at Best Buy anyway.

I read a magazine article espousing the benefits of hearing them in mono as they were originally recorded. It's more for high-end audiophile geeks I think. The 2 or 3 releases that were ommitted from the mono box set were originally recorded in stero and therefore don't exist in mono. My hearing isn't that sharp, so I'd go for the stereo version personally.

I'm sure someone like Detuned, Trog or Manny could go into greater detail why mono is superior. They seem to be audiophile geeks. And I mean that as a compliment.
