I think I'm done buying CD's for awhile (except for a select few) until The Beatles remasters are released.

I picked up the new KSE, one of the few metalcore bands I like. The Crucified box set came out too and I picked that up.

Nothing there except The Donnas and since I have all their albums, I don't need a greatest hits collection.

Thankfully, nothing there I want. I need to catch up listening from the last few weeks of purchases. July 14th Live Priest!!! Peace.

The only thing I see that would interest me is Novembers Doom but since I won't find it around here, it's all moot.

Just curious DB, do you buy anything from the internet?

If I depended on the brick and mortar stores to stock releases I was looking for, I'd probably buy about 10 albums a year instead of my usual 200 or so (but I'd have a lot more money in the bank).

I put myself on a CD buying budget about 5 years ago and I DID buy a house!

I had to; the CDs were pushing me out of my apartment.

Now with all this room...the addiction has returned.

On the "bright side", the joys of home maintenance like air conditioning repairs, lawn maintenance and killing the damn mole invasion of my lawn have recently curbed by buying sprees.

I guess that's a good thing.

I try to stick to stores just because it's easier to watch my budget. So many of the albums I want are only availiable on the internet and it's hard to decide which ones to get now and which ones to get later. If I stick to only whats availiable in retail or used stores it's easier to decide. Once I get through mechanic school and get a job where I'm better off financially, the floodgates of internet shopping will open, but as of now I'm trying to have self control. If it's a release that I just HAVE to get then I will either special order it or chance the internet but if it's something that can wait til I locate it at a store then I'll wait.

I think that Dallas made a great point about it being easier to watch your spending and stay on a budget when you stick with the brick and mortar store purchases. It's not that I don't trust the internet (I spent 5 years buying football cards off ebay and thankfully never had problems) it's that I can get carried away pointing and clicking and using paypal and such way too easily. I have found a few hidden gems the last few years though that I never thought I would. Like Ian Gillan said, "It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase."

I've only bought 2 CDs this month so far which is probably a 2 decade low for me.

It's not that I'm trying to cut down; there just isn't anything I want out there.

its given me a chance to get stuff thats on my want list.
