Megadeth-Hidden Treasures
Megadeth-Cryptic Writings
Megadeth-United Abominations
Megadeth-Killing Is My Business

When I was in middle school, I listened almost exclusively to Megadeth. As the years went by and my tastes became more eclectic, I forgot just how much I love them. This week, I'm going to listen to as much Megadeth as humanly possible!

Black Sabbath - The Ray Gillen Years.

This is messing with my head....either Tony Martin copied Ray's performances EXACTLY for the official recording...or this isn't Ray Gillen.

Anybody know the story behind this one?

Okay, now that I've gotten a little deeper into this I can hear the difference. The song Eternal Idol, you can definitely tell that's Ray singing.

...on a side note, the opening riff to that song is almost identical to the song Streets from the Savatage album (Streets came out quite a few years later).

Very raw bootleg of a club date, sound is sub-par but you can hear Iommi clearly. Straight-ahead blues rock of the period.

That's Ray. Tony came in real 11th hour and only had enough time to emulate all Ray's melodies.

edit: Okay I found this quote from Tony Martin explaining the situation:

It was a very
involved, new, deep, position i found myself in and was completely
unprepared for it!!! I DID do the job though and i'm pleased with what
it became. It was a little weird following EXACT lines and lyrics
already laid in place because my voice was forced to work in some
strange keys, but there wasn't time to change any of it anyway, i only
had a week to record the whole thing.!!!
