Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans Yes - Relayer Asia - Asia Do you have this one? If not I highly recommend it. The remastered release has a different cover (just a black sleeve with the band name on the front, this cover is on the inside). That is the one to get because of much better sound and multiple bonus tracks. |

I have read that's more straight ahead jazz influenced stuff? |

It's definitely a prog album, very much sounds like a Yes. The only real difference is Peter Banks (the original guitarist) has some more jazz-y vibe in his solos, but it's more fusion than straight-ahead. It's actually one of my favorite album of theirs. progressive rock & fusion jazz are first cousins anyway. |

Roger. I'm still relatively new to the classic prog sound but I love it. I need to check out that debut album. |

Warhorse-Red Sea (1972) Is this the band with Brain Robertson of Thin Lizzy fame or am I thinking of another band he was in?

Never heard them, the reviews on AMG said they could have been the blueprint for Spinal Tap though. |

detuned thanks for the info, now my next question, are they worth looking into? They are a good band. I like both of those albums. They aren't all that distinctive, but good typical early 70's hard rock. The debut is the classic, Red Sea is a little unfocused but might have a few of their strongest individual songs. They are better than Simper (Evans) era Purple IMO.
