Hey, I used to have a Metallica-Metal Up Your Ass t-shirt! The first metal t-shirt I ever had. A friend of my sister gave it to me and I put tape over ass so I could wear it to school. My second was also a hand me down of Slayer-War Ensemble, which was bad ass. It was a skull made out of guns and ammo. Both shirts ended up getting too many holes for some reason and had to be retired.

My dad sure as hell wouldn't have let me keep it thats for sure (can't remember if my mom knew about it or not). At the time my parents had separated and I lived with my mom (that changed later though).

I'm not sure which part of it my Mom objected to most -- the word "ass" or the fact that it had a toilet bowl on it. Whatever the reason, she didn't want it in her house. I eventually got a RIDE THE LIGHTNING shirt instead, which actually turned out better cuz just about every other kid in school ended up with the "Metal Up Your Ass" shirt anyway.

I had the Metal Up Your Ass shirt too. For many years. First as a regular t-shirt, then sleeve-less, then just for work-outs, then the garbage. I remember getting in a drunken fight with my brother and he grabbed my by the shirt and ripped a nice hole in the chest. I was soooooo pissed. It was after that, it was downgraded to a work-out-in-the-garage-only shirt. I hated to toss it but it was so thread bare and stinky, it had to go.

Out of curiosity, did the man on the electric chair on the back of the shirt glow in the dark or did the back of yours have something else? I remember that mine did.
