Primal Fear 16.6 tracks listed!

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR entered the studio on November 28 to begin recording their new album, "16.6", due in early 2009 via Frontiers Records. The band is in the process of laying down the following 14 tracks for the new CD (working titles; in no particular order):

good to see Magnus get some exsposure he is too good a guitarist to not be in a big band..

Hmm, looks interesting. Hope they do material more in the vein of "Nuclear Fire" or "Black Sun". That's what I think this band does best. Look forward to hear how Magnus sounds in PF.

Ditto. I haven't liked the last two PF discs much at all but I love the earlier stuff.

Anything will be fine by me!, whether early or later style, love it all. I struggle to find a favorite.

I'm curious to hear how Magnus has affected thier sound...he is SO incredibly melodic on the guitar...this will be very interesting...

Primal Fear never lets down and with Magnus on board i cant wait..

Sounds promising. I liked the the songs I heard on Metal Is Forever (the best of) and got the last one based on that. New Religion however, had no songs quite up to par with those. Not a bad album, but nothing super spectacular.

Magnus will add to it but Matt won't let him alter the sound too much. They've been moving into more melodic territory lately anyway. This should kill.

This should make my top 5 for '09 easily.

I also hope that Ralf gets back to the more powerful singing he did on "Devil's Ground" (in my opinion, his best ever performance). The singing in the higher register was awesome on earlier albums too, but on "Seven Seals" he started to sound a bit strained and moreso with "New Religion". Hmm, I think the case for me with Edguy goes for Primal Fear too. It's fine if you want to make more melodic and more mellow music. As long as it's good and as long as it still sounds like the same band.

Awesome! Cant wait for this one. A lot of cool stuff has come out this year already. Looking at the names of the songs though, dont they already have a song called Black Rain off of a previous album?

Nope. "Black Sun." Or "Red Rain."

Sounds really great, no dissapointment there.

Awesome clips there. One thing I can expect is a more melodic songwriting approach with Magnus on board.

By the time primal fear released their third album, i was dead bored of their repetitive sound. Too bad since i'm a huge painkiller fan.

Is that the same Magnus from Allen/Lande? If so this album will be a priority once it's released in the U.S.

Great clips. They remind me more of the first albums gain, which I think is Sweet! The modern power metal scene needs the original bands to show the copycats how this is done!

So what do you all think? I'm loving this album and the title song smokes. Magnus added texture to the sound without making it sound like some other band and Ralph sounds great.
