| Who would you choose as the second (not first) greatest guitarist ever? Why?
I'd say John Petrucci
He's an awesome player, but I almost always like him more when he's backed up with some other instrument.

| I agree with Damien Solta on John Petrucci. Technical wise he is the best, but Criss Oliva (who I'd say is the greatest) had a gene say qua unmatched by any other guitarist IMO, so Petrucci gets my vote for 2nd. | |

| EVH because i don't think he's the best but at the same time he revolutionized the guitar in the 80's and he was probably the most creative player ever. | |

I will fight you to the ends of the Earth. :starwars: How do you disagree? When he came out he perfected a little thing called tapping that changed all the rules and sound of rock guitar. His style started the whole harmonic node incorporations too. I didn't give him the #1 slot because he isn't the best but as an innovator he can't be denied. Listen to (Eruption) and the intro to "Mean Street" again.

| Yngwie Malmsteen (in Rock/Metal) : not the N°1, but 2. cause his songs (with exception of the album RISING FORCE) seem to be all the same thing.
Paco de Lucia (all categories guitar players) : simply, he's exceptianl .
