Been stirring the pot w/ K-OCTAVE lately...just got off the phone w/ Jason (guitar) actually.
We're DEFINITELY recording this Spring. A full 10 songs (one of which is a cover...you'll dig it). He's starting TOMORROW working w/ the new drummer, teaching him the songs and tweaking the arrangements at the same time.
Some of the music is about 6 years old, so he's re-visiting it and is definitely going to make some changes as far as arrangements and drum patterns. He and I were discussing what parts to shorten/lengthen/slow down/speed up, etc. just now. We actually dropped 2 songs and are going to write 3 new ones. Won't take very long because Jason is a riff-factory.
The plan is to record drum tracks per song as soon as it's learned (the drummer has his own studio). So, as soon as the arrangement is finalized & Jason & JT (drummer) can play it smoothly, they're hitting the "Record" button on the drums. Once drums are done, everything else will go quickly. We're looking at being done by the end of July, which is pretty quickly when you factor in daily lives, jobs, families, etc.
We're also talking about a few other possible changes...as soon as a decision is made, we'll let you know.
