Ska + Metal = Awsome?

I'm going to a local music venue tonight to see a Ska show, and I personally know one of the Band's trumpet player and he Said it's going to be pretty heavy (though not, as he says "Summon the Devil heavy"). I'm wondering if any of you guy's have heard of this kind of stuff? I mean I know Third-wave ska, and some of it's punk-ness, but metal?

Not even slightly a fan of ska, so I can't imagine liking it mixed with metal.
