I picked up a cassette copy of Exxplorer - Symphonies of Steel a while back, and I am just getting to checking it out. It's a great release of straight ahead metal with high range vocals and a speed/thrash edge to it at times.
Apparently this has had a few different covers. I did some looking around, and I am not sure which cover I have, but I can't find any images of it online. It's killer, and better than the others I have seen! It's got like a dead guy/skeleton band and crowd. I will try and post it sometime.
Anyone into this band? Anyone have their second release (A Recipe for Power)? How does it compare?
I have loved that album since it came out. I believe they were from NJ. SOS was the best of the 3 albums that they put out (3 that I am aware of anyways). The original art was pretty eclectic, but very cool too.
This is the original cover of the first, mega rare version from HHH Recordings.
Metalpage lists this rereleases:
Vinyl: - 2nd US Pressing on Metal Blade, different cover (rarity 1) - Euro Pressing on Black Dragon (FRA), different cover (rarity 0) CD: - Reborn Classics (incl. 3 bonustracks) - Black Dragon (FRA) - Underground Symphony (ITA) - Old Metal (USA)
I want to try and lay my hands on the Black Dragon release of it eventually.

I grew up in New Jersey (have been here all my life) so I've heard this band in the past but honestly it's been years so I can't really remember what they sounded like. I may have to look into getting some of their stuff.

One of my all time favorite US metal albums. An absolute classic.
