Roger Waters - Amused To Death

Played this one tonight. What a brilliant, brilliant album. I first heard this in my local record store (still plugging away, too). I ordered it after hearing only two songs and have never regretted it.

Jeff Beck did most of the guitar work, but Andy Fairweather Low contributed as well.

I think this album stands with about anything Waters ever did with Floyd. It has a moody sort of cynicism that appeals to me. Great lyrics.

All of the songs are "favorites" but some real standouts would be:

Perfect Sense, Parts I and II
Too Much Rope
Three Wishes

" Amused to Death " is a great album and lyrics are just incredible.
the song " Watching TV" where a man is watching his daughter get killed
on the television coverage of Tiananmen Square, and sadly the final
lyrics to the title says what someone in the future may say of our
world,

" But on eliminating every other reason

For our Sad Demise

They logged their only explantation left

The Species has amused itself to Death"
