| The thread I started on STP reminded me that around the time of the release of "Core", I remember Neil Young was being hailed as a grandfather of grunge, anyone a fan, I see him more as the godfather of alternative country, but this my opinion since stylisic Neil Young is all over the map and goes wherever the muses take him. | |

| I like Neil Young a lot, but I can only get into his hit songs. I also liked him a lot when he was with Crosby, Stills and Nash. | |

| That godfather of grunge thing is retarded. But I like alot of his stuff. The "Mirrorball" album with Pearl Jam is my personal favorite. But I'm a bit of a Pearl Jam fan boy. |

| Yeah. The Crazy Horse stuff. It was heavy and brooding so I guess that influenced the grunge movement. |

| I'd say he was an influence, but you're right, stylistically he's all over the place (but that's cool, I love his stuff anyway!). The godfather of grunge title is misleading, IMHO. | |

| Neil Young - Live At Massey Hall 1971. I just got this CD recently and it's absolutely INCREDIBLE. It's an all acoustic solo set with Neil either playing guitar or piano. Beautiful, painful, angst-ridden...it's all there and it's genius. |

| Neil Young=Legend. I agree with ^^^detuned^^^. The man is very talented, he can play any instrument. I saw a concert on VH1 from like 1970 and the man is captivating. I wouldnt expect new-school rockers to get him. | |

| I own Silver and Gold DVD, which is an unplugged set, just incredible emotional performance. If your fan, highly recommended. | |

| I like his work with Crazy Horse and CSNY. Not wild about his solo albums although he has one classic song called "Piece of Crap". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
