I have a 2-cd anthology that, by coincidence, I'm listening to this week. Great stuff. One of the few all-girl groups I enjoy thoroughly. And they've been given the Seal of Approval by Lemmy. Can't get much better than that.

Had a cassette of Running Wild that I listened to quite a bit back in the day. Loved that album, but when I got the s/t on lala, I was a bit let down. Good, but not to the level I remembered.

Running Wild is the most commerical, but its also my favorite. It was released by EMI on cassette and LP, but not on CD. I had to make my own. Smile

were the best of their career, and were supported by some heavy hitters
such as Motorhead.

Yeah it's a pretty darn good album. I'm surprised how good it sounds even though it either came from vinyl or a cassette.

The vocals REALLY remind me of Doro. Maybe that was what I was wanting and missing on the s/t. I need to pull that cd out and listen to it again.

Probably the same one that I have. I generally enjoy their music (at least what I've heard of it). They do some pretty good covers of 70s glam rock tunes.

On Running Wild, they hired a singer to do the songs because the record company thought that Kim McAuliffe didn't have the pipes or the looks to put them "over the top". That's why other stuff you have heard doesn't quite sound the same.

Oh wow, no wonder!

It also explains why long time fans panned the album. Not having heard anything else at the time, I loved it.

I pulled out the s/t and listened to it on the way to work. Great album.

Kim's vocals are definitely rougher and sleazier than the vocalist on
Running Wild, but it's not like that's a bad thing. I think she would
have done a great job with those songs.
