So for my school's alumni thing they are trying to get people to sign up on facebook. I've resisted the other social networking sites. Partly because it sort of confuses me why people I'm friends with in everyday life need to be my online friends too. But I figured it might be a cool way to catch up with old friends I've lost contact with. I've heard it is a much different thing than say myspace.

So facebook, any usefulness?

Its actually a pretty good way to catch up with people. Its like myspace, without the myspace bullshit.

Facebook is cool. It's like MySpace, only for white people. And it doesn't allow people to create their own layouts, effectively eliminating all the malware and spyware and viruses your "friends" give you on MySpace because they just copy and paste code from sites that embed this crap in it.

At the end of the day, though, both Facebook and MySpace are essentially e-mail with some different features. Nothing wrong with that. I like Facebook better.

I was really disappointed that Facebbok doesn't have more fat hoes with big tits.

You're not looking hard enough.

Or were you referring to that other conversation?

I use both.Myspace mainly for bands and finding new music and facebook for catching up with old friends and family who live out of state.

That's what MySpace is best for, the bands. I friend request every band I can think of with the Getcha Rocks Off page. Then every few days I scroll through the bulletins. That's like the news feed. Too many bands now just don't have regular websites, and Blabbermouth doesn't cover nearly enough.

you never see people linking to facebook sites, unless it's their own. myspace has more to offer.

How many viruses or spyware programs does your page have? MySpace definitely has more to offer, but it's also got a laundry list of problems. Facebook has no such list.

Either way, I have pages at both. Laughing

So I went ahead and signed up. Pretty crazy how in one day I heard from several people I had lost touch with. The best was an ex-girlfriend from hell who messaged me acting like I might not remember her. I mean she only ruined my life that one summer.

Only annoying thing is having to tell what I've been up to all these years over and over. It's a trip though to suddenly have all these long lost friends being heard from again. Of course I'm sure after some time I might start to remember why I lost contact with them in the first place.

I loved when my ex-wife messaged me a few months ago and expressed resentment that I've been successful since we divorced. Her exact words were, "I resent the fact that you've accomplished these things now and not while we were together." Hahaha. I should have said, "Yeah, well I resent the fact that your vagina was a cock-sock while I was in Italy." Instead, I pointed out the fact that at the time I was enlisted in the Air Force--with her!--and still rather young.

Haha. Crazy, worthless woman.

I have both, i like Myspace for the tunes and finding awesome bands and I also think its kind of cool that you can be online friends with some of your favorite bands/artists, and i find facebook pretty boring it has its uses but i rarely spend time on either sites, and i dont get the people who are obbsessed with them and on them all the time ....lame

I started Facebookin' as of this morning. It's pretty neat. For a noob-ish "social networker" like me it's a lot less intimidating than MySpace, and not as complicated as it either.
