After the first two, I'm not a big Metallica fan.

Vertigo otherwise known as "The Black Album". Seriously why only one vote? It's the heaviest most meanest metal record Metallica ever put out!

There's just no way, it's a good hard rock album granted, but it doesnt match the attitude of Kill 'Em All, or the heaviness of Ride The Lightning by a long shot.

*digs out Metallica records* I'll go listen to them all now. Maybe my versions of heavy differ. Would darker be a better word to use?

Thats better, but IMO its still ultra lite compared to those first two.

I admit Kill 'em All is heavier than Vertigo. I'll change my wording as darker is definately a much, much better word!

Since when is the Black Album also called "Vertigo?"

No idea. I just brought it from a store that said "The Black Album" and also found it 12 other places under "Vertigo" also my dad (Metallica maniac) told me it had two names but the most common being "The Black Album".

OK, if you say so. I've always known it as "the Black Album" or simply "Metallica." Never heard it referred to as "Vertigo."

Vertigo is the name of their record label in Europe, though. Perhaps that's where it comes from.

Everyone where I live calls it Vertigo so I've sort of grown up calling it that. If I'm wrong about the other name I'm screwed but luckily so will lots of other

Vertigo.
