| I know at the end of the year we do a top 20 list but (because I'm bored and like to make lists) since the year is half way through I'd like to see what people would call their top 5 or 10 up til now. Techically we we're half way through the year last month, but I forgot that I wanted to do a post like this. With the year on the downhill, what would in your opinions are the top albums of the year so far?
My top 10 as of right now:
1. Khymera-The Greatest wonder 1. Jon Oliva's Pain-Global Warning 1. Avantasia-The Scarecrow
These are tied because I can't bring myself to rank them nor can I honestly say which I like better (I like all three in different ways).
2. Empire-Chasing Shadows 3. Human Zoo-Over The Horizon 4. Axxis-Doom Of Destiny 5. Black Tide-Light From Above 6. Testament-Formation Of Damnation 7. Circle II Circle-Delusions Of Grandeur 8. Judas Priest-Nostradamus 9. Firewind-Premoniton 10. Moonspell-Night Eternal
Interesting to note is that #s 2, 3, 4, and 7 are from Locomotive Records and the first three there are bands I didn't know existed until recently. With albums from Opeth, Iced Earth, Jacob's Dream, Seventh Avenue, and others yet to reach my ears, this list is subject to change drastically come December.

Not suprisingly since our musical tastes are quite different. - mc666 wrote:

No problem, this list is really just something I wanted to do for myself mostly.

| One cool thing about these lists IMO, is that it will be interesting to see the position of the #1 albums by the end of the year. | |

| Mine aren't in order. In fact, that's probably not even my top 10s at the moment. These things are virtually impossible for me to do! Haha. |

Usually for me they are too (as can be seen by my #1 spot) but it is sometimes fun to try. Except when it comes to lists like favorite albums, favorite bands, favorite songs, favorite guitar solos, favorite album covers-those lists are ones I won't even TRY to put in order (some like the solo or song lists I won't do period because the list would be WAY too long).

Must. Buy. Both. Of. These. I didn't like JOP's first album, but I'm hearing this is more like Savatage (right?), so I'd like to check it out. Black Tide I know I already like just from their MySpace page and I'm gonna pick it up tonight at Best Buy. Anyway, pretty good year for music so far: 1. Motley Crue - Saints of Los Angeles 2. Whitesnake - Good to Be Bad 3. Avantasia - The Scarecrow 4. Judas Priest - Nostradamus 5. Dokken - Lightning Strikes Again Only doing top 5 for now because there's a lot more I plan on buying before the year is up and I'm sure it'll shuffle what I've already listed. Plus, some of the other stuff I've gotten would only make a top 10 list by default.

| Motley Crue - Saints of Los Angeles
This album surprised the hell out of me. It totally renewed me interest in them (as far as modern material...never get sick of the good ol' days). |
