I don't know how I stumbled upon this old thread.
Recently listened to
Never, Neverland while converting my cassettes into mp3s and definitely disagree with the second half being better than the first. My favorite songs off the album are "The Fun Palace," "Sixes And Sevens," "Stonewall," and the title track--all on side 1. In fact, I wasn't going to convert any of the side 2 tracks until I decided I wanted the entire album.
I agree with
Powerslave, however. Even though there are only three songs on side 2, they are all awesome, while the last three tracks on side 1 are the weakest on the album.
Others I'd include so far are Judas Priest's
Turbo and TNT's
Knights Of The New Thunder which I revisited tonight. The second half is very solid while the only tracks I consider must-haves on side 1 are "Seven Seas" and "Last Summer's Evil." For a non-metal album:
Upstairs At Eric's by Yaz.
