Known more for their former bandmates who went on to bigger but not better things imo. Phil Lewis (LA Guns) and Phil Collen (Def Leppard).
UFO and Lizzy meets early Japan with a bit of the Dolls and Kiss thrown in.
Got caught up in the whole NWOBHM thing but really owed nothing to it much like Def Leppard.
Funny story an older friend told me, he went to get some of his stuff signed a while back at a Def Leppard signing and Vivian Campbell saw the cover of the first Girl record that my friend was giving to Phil Collen to sign and says "What's this, is this you Phil" seemingly oblivious to his bandmates past, Phil answers and Viv says "You Fag".
Anyway great band if you haven't checked em out.

I have Sheer Greed on vinyl. It's a good record.

Very cool band, and one kinda out of time - too late for the 70s glam boom; too early for the 80s.
I have their 2 disc 'My Number' anthology. Disc one is a 'best of' of their 2 albums plus a couple of non-album tracks (a Van Halen-esque cover of the Kink's 'You Really Got Me is one of them). Disc two is their unreleased third album (actually quite good) and some badly recorded live stuff.
Considering what CD copies of their 2 albums go for, this is probably all I'll be getting.

I've been aware of this band, but I've never actually heard anything from them.

Definately much like Hanoi Rocks.
Are you a fan of early Japan (First 2 records in the late 70's)?
Very Glammy funky hard rock, Girl were really influenced by them so much so they got the same producer/engineer from Japan's first album Adolescent Sex. Always thought Girl were a heavy metal version of early Japan.

This band should be in the rock section.

Japan are a band I've heard of, but not actually heard.
I plan on rectifying that now

Adolescent Sex is the one to get followed by Obscure Alternatives, although their later albums are better but fit more into early 80's new wave.

Most definately falls under the Hard Rock banner and many would put them in the NWOBHM movement.

Really impressive. Based on Phil Collen's involvement, I expected this to me a lot lighter, but that's some good stuff there.
