What happened to the old school stuff? Very few bands are doing this, as far as I hear. At least not like they did back in the day. It's all screamo stuff now, and too metallic.
This is the good stuff:
Any new bands doing stuff like that these days?
That's one of the newer hardcore bands that I really like. Not screamo. Not metal. But not completely old school, either.

I agree with you, E. The old days of great hardcore are over, unfortunately. But Terror is still around, so at least there is one true player out there.
I wonder if the reformed Earth Crisis will record?
BTW, did you like the Angermeans album by Strife?

I did like Angermeans, but it's not nearly as good as thier first two, and the production is pretty bad. I've tried to get into Terror, but they just remind me of Hatebreed. There's no personality with them, at least from what I can hear. Almost like they don't mean it, you know?
Here's another band I really like:

Oh boy.
Rent Terror's DVD, then you'll see that they are it in it to win it. They are the best hardcore band out there now.
Scott Vogel is just straight awesome.

Well, they might be "real," but they still sound very one-dimensional to me. Maybe I'll have to find a cheap CD...
Now that sounds outstanding. On the list!

What about the Gallows, Cancer Bats, F*cked Up etc. I'm not a fan of these bands but i respect them as being hardcore bands different to most of the crap out there.

Their last album was awesome!
And those other bands aren't really what I'm talking about; though Vision of Disorder is awesome. Sworn Enemy is a good old school-styled band, but that guys voice bothers me sometimes for some reason. Full Blown Chaos is too metal. They're more like Cataract (awesome band) that mixes hardcore and metal, but come off sound more like a metal band.

Just saw Madball a couple weeks ago. Stayed for 2 songs before the kids drove me nuts. Those guys flat out suck. There is no such thing as REAL H/C - only modern h/c. Not the same thing at all, as the world has changed in 25 years.
And one other thing - Hardcore is about UNITY. These stupid kids can't even spell the word. Don't get me started.

OK.
Saw Ag Front with Death Before Dishonor and Martyr A.D. a few months back.
Martyr A.D. - even though they are local, I won't even speak their name.
DBD - All they sang about was hyper-patriotic, let go around the earth and kill every towelhead we can find, BS. Let's shove a gun up that bands ass and see if they think the same way.
Ag Front - Well, they have not changed. So there is an exception to every rule. But, Roger could tell that the Minneapolis scene is dead. He stood on stage shaking his head at some points. When I saw that, I took my 40 year old fat ass, grabbed a kid that seemed to be getting the same vibe, and blendered the karate-kids all over the pit. My shame turned to anger and I just started going into the pit and pushing these idiot kids to the ground. I am not big, but one look at me at that moment, and they left the pit. I left the show saddened.
I lost a little respect for Ag Front for having DBD on the bill.
This is a true story.

Those are old school bands, though, and all but Madball—which I posted a video from—watch the vids, man!—are broken up, right? I know E-Town and Blood for Blood are, and I think Skarhead is, or at least was at some point. Plus E-Town leaned more toward the rapcore side of things.
I'm talking about newer bands doing the old school thing.

Oh, don't you start! I just like that old school style more than most of the newer bands put out. And yes, the fans suck (unless you were talking about Madball, in which case I'd disagree). But the fans are annoying. I remember back in the day if I fell in the pit, ten people would rush to pick me up and make sure I was all right. Today, if I fell in a pit, ten people would rush to stomp on my head! It's a joke.
And yeah, unity!
Disregard that black blob of bad idea to the right (lesson: never get a tat at 16, while drunk, from a guy who does tats for weed).

I have a Madball cd or 2. I think I like the tunes [It's been awhile], but from the 2 songs me and Auntie witnessed, they did absolutley nothing for me live.
Me and one of my workers went up to Winnipeg to catch the Dayglo Abortions. The scene between that and the shows I saw in MPLS were night and day. Maybe I am living in the wrong place and time for h/c. We had a great scene in the 80's. Maybe all my bros and sisters are dead or something.
I'm gonna go listen to some Danger Danger now.....

The hardcore scene is nothing like it was in the early 90s, so I doubt it'll ever be like it was in the 80s. I remember when straightedge was cool and respectable. Then around the mid-90s I saw guys punched girls in the face for smoking. And it's only gotten worse, of course.
And my chest is hairy! Damn. I had no chest hair when I was like 25. Haha.
