| black vinyl is stronger and more durable anyway because of the graphite they add to the pvc to make it black | |

| I've started buying vinyl again when the situation merits it (the recording was originally analog, etc). The quality of new vinyl seems to vary widely depending on the record label though. For instance, I have a couple records from Tee Pee and they are usually crackly from the very first spin...which irritates the crap out of me. On the other hand... Southern Lord puts out awesome vinyl, every one I've bought so far has just blown me away sonically. Plus they have a habit of adding "vinyl only" bonus tracks to their albums and sometimes even including bonus LP singles in the packaging. LP's make this old bastard a happy bastard. |

| German pressing with backwards 'zz' logo. Due to the similarity of the lightning bolt "ss" in the Kiss logo to the Nazi "SS", the logo was changed. To avoid controversy, after 1979 most of the band's album covers and merchandise in Germany had modified versions of the logo, in which the "SS" looks like a backwards "ZZ." I've never seen this pressing before. The album has the normal cover on it, but it is wrapped by this paper "make-up" cover. It's also on the old Casablanca label, rather than the Mercury label. Australian pressing for $7! Great deal! Just an odd best of compilation. Black Sabbath - The Ultimate in Heavy Metal! Someone needs to let them know that they are "just hard rock". In the ultimate in cheesy fanboy geekiness, I know own three different versions of this record, including the copy I had signed in '07, a Japanese pressing, and this radio promo pressing. One of many repackagings of the early Judas Priest records by Gull Records. I've always liked this 2 record set. The cover is cool and the inner gatefold has a cool rendering of the band members. The Rocka Rolla tracks were all completely remixed for this album as well. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| ULT where do have room for all the vinyl you own? That is one of the reasons I give away my records when I replace it with a CD, not enough room. | |
