| Just picked up a remastered copy of Necroticism today (my favourite Carcass album). Didn't know it was being re-released. It was a nice dual disc with bonus tracks and a dvd documentry which was part 3 of a 5 part 2.5 hour documentry filmed at the end of 2007 going through the bands entire career. The other albums are being released again throughout the summer. Lets hope the recent reunion includes a UK tour. | |

| Heartwork and Swan Song were good. But the other albums of theirs just sounded like noise to me. |

| I liked all their albums, Swansong is probably my least favorite. and Reek Of Putrefaction is hard to get into at first, but its all good. | |

I can understand this about the first couple of albums but nectroticism was when Mike Amott joined the band and their sound became less grindcore and more straight death metal with much more memorable songs. This album is a lot like heartwork except they still had their medical fixation.

| i first bought heartwork and swansong and swore that's all i'd buy from carcass. but then i started thinking that if those two were so good, surely the back catalog has something to offer as well! i bought necroticism just recently. and golly if it ain't a good 'un! different for sure, but quite good. |

| Carcass were amazing until they dumped that turd Swansong. what a sad way for a band of that caliber to go out. _________________ | |

| Heartwork, Heartwork, Heartwork! One of my favorite albums from my early metal years and one that I will get back again. Right now I've been trying to get it used but after years and years, it's about time to fork over the big bucks for it. At this time I do have the songs Heartwork and No Love Lost that I downloaded a while back. | |

| Amott changed up their sound a lot and I think it lost some people. Heartwork was an all time classic. |

oddly enough, according to interviews at the time of heartwork and swansong, the style of swansong is exactly the direction they wanted to go. steer & amott both seemed to think that the first couple of albums were poorly produced and immature, and that they WANTED to slow things down and be more accessible. which is fine, of course, but that usually means alienating your original audience. not sure if they've changed their opinion in recent years. |

| Great band. "Necroticism" or "Heartwork" is my favorite album from them. | |

| "Symphonies of Sickness" and "Nectoticism: Descanting the Insalubrious" are my faves by the band! I liked all the other albums as well but it took a few months for Heartwork to grow on me and almost a year to accept Swan Song. | |

| My favorite by a longshot is "Necroticism". I like "Swangsong a lot too, but I thought "heartwork" sucked. | |

| I thought the reunion was only a summer festival thing? Ammot has Arch Enemy to deal with, afterall.
Also, why have Carcass not announced any UK dates whatsoever? If they're reuniting so briefly, you'd think they'd play their home turf. _________________

Also, why have Carcass not announced any UK dates whatsoever? If they're reuniting so briefly, you'd think they'd play their home turf. Apparantly after searching for info I found out that Carcass were very reluctant to ever reform without original drummer Ken Owen who had a brain haemorrhage some time ago. Jeff Walker said that one of the motivators for the reunion was that hey will be able to in his words "put some money Kens way". This sounds like they will only play festival dates which will pay better than a small club tour of the UK or anywhere else. I usually hate it when bands reform and it's obiously for the money but at least this is a worthy cause and at least we the fans get to have the original albums nicely re released with plenty of worthwile material at a very reasonable price (£10 each UK). Fingers crossed for a UK date or two before they call it quits forever.

| I maintain that they should be playing this year's Bloodstock festival, I'm honestly surprised they're not. At The Gates are, and they're doing a similar thing with their reunion. _________________ | |

I agree this would have been a great idea.
