But the bad thing is that Uta Plotkin is leaving them after their tour.
Oh dear! Uta is very much the force that makes them unique
Btw nevermore, did you check out that Hela record? I was sure that you would dig that.
I recently checked out Hela. I hope to pick that up sometime soon!!
Good isn't it?
Very good!!

You should see YOB live, it's quite the experience, it's like standing inside a giant lava lamp filled with nuclear waste. They are embarking on a European tour with Pallbearer opening up.

That sounds tempting. I really like Pallbearer.

New Wall of Sleep! Hell yeah.
I really dig the new vocalist, but I miss the uniqueness of their original vocalist.

Did some research on this band and found out that this is Chad Davis from Hour Of 13's new band. Also found out that Hour Of 13 split up earlier this year. But he had been working on this project since 2012. Good stuff!!

Did someone say something?
On your posts
Order of Israfel - Really, really good, I thought that they had been discussed on here but I've been meaning to get that one.
Wall of Sleep - It's good but with so much coming out I'll be passing on it I think.
Now your turn, are you really gonna ignore new Electric F**kin' Wizard?

Honestly, I'm not all that impressed with Electric Wizard. I dig them, sure, but I don't understand why they're held in such high regard. Good, but I don't think they're amazing. And some of their stuff is just a mess.
Anyway, new Alunah is coming!

Electric Wizard is "ok", I think they are probably more than a little tongue-in-cheek; fun, cheeky, cheesy, horror movie influenced tuneage. But I don't really feel the need to collect, I have a couple albums and that's good enough.

I felt that way about Electric Wizard too, but then something clicked and I started loving their stuff, particularly the more recent stuff.
I wasn't mad about the Alunah track, I can't find anything wrong with it but there's so much stuff on my 'to buy' list and I didn't do a lot for me.

The Electric Wizard album I've enjoyed the most is Witchcult Today. It was really the track Dunwich that pushed it out in front for me.

It's very typical of the female-fronted doom style, but they do it well. Nothing at all unique, though.

I can't post a sample right now, but has anyone heard of Reverend Bizarre? I came across them today while sampling doom bands. The song was Slave of Satan. The music was very slow and deliberate.....the vocals were what caught my attention; though. They were almost OVER done kind of melodramatic...almost goth like. Anyways, sounded like something worth exploring.

I dig Reverend Bizarre, the track you mentioned is very much like you said, but they also have some (slightly) more upbeat stuff with less dramatic vocals. They are well worth checking out properly. I only own So Long Suckers which is a monstrously long doomathon, but really good.

Great band. Lots of long instrumental breaks on their albums. A 13-minutes song might have a minute of vocals, you know. But definitely worth checking out either way.
