Priest was first to do this for me. Next was Savatage. And then Dio. And then Fates Warning and Dream Theater as I got more into Progressive metal.

King's X for me. Not one note, not one concert moment, not one ounce of energy - wasted. I can have their volume on 1 or 11, and that vibe takes me over. The concerts are spiritual - the fanbase, extended family. Kind of a Grateful Dead for MY sect of peoples. I know Pelata knows exactly what I am talking about.

couldn't agree more... 20 years ago it didn't matter as much.... Now when I hear their stuff it's all about what it means to be Human and dealing with this path known as life. Sometimes it's good sometimes it sucks...

I can so relate their joys and dispair to my own....

They are consistant in this dept.
A band that can hit you from many many angles and have you beggin' for more.

Valhalla by Bathory. And Into The Coven by Mercyful Fate, the opening sets the mood for it.

The rock n' roll guys, the balladeers, the gutter poets, the wit writers, the truthsayers and the singers of all those heartbreak stories. Basically the ones that were never 'Born To Be Sold'.
