| I love all forms of punk, hardcore, crossover, etc etc. But my favorite full album from beginning to end is.... Earth Crisis - Destroy The MachinesSince I first heard it in 1998, this album still surprises me 10 years later with its heaviness and all out rage. I really want to kill someone by the end of this one. What is your favorite hardcore/punk release?
BTW, Sax's is Minor Threat's Complete Discography. |

| When it comes to "hardcore:" -- I haven't heard it in years (since my old cassette crapped out and I've never upgraded to CD) but I suppose my favorite would be Corrosion of Conformity's ANIMOSITY. -- I'm not sure if S.O.D.'s SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE would qualify as "pure" hardcore, but that's definitely up there. -- Carnivore's RETALIATION album has a lotta hardcore in its metal too. Those were the days. Skank or die!! As for plain ol' straight up punk rock, it should be pretty obvious by now to everyone around here that I worship the ground the Ramones walked on. Doesn't matter which Ramones album, they're all good. Lawd, how I miss that band!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I'm not sure it qualifies as hardcore, but one that came to mind was: S.O.D. - Speak English or Die
One that definitely is hardcore that came to mind: focused - Bow _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Minor Threat would definitely be top 5. But don't do that to me. There are so many important albums that address so many different subjects on the ills of society. All I know is, properly harnessed and directed, ANGER IS OUR GREATEST WEAPON!! Anger is an N-R-G! |

| Another of my favorite punk bands are The Dead Kennedys. How can you not like songs like Holiday In Cambodia, California Uber Alles or Kill The Poor? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| For punk, a big toss-up between.......
Dead Kennedys--fresh fruit for rotten vegetables MDC-- Now more then ever Circle Jerks-- Golden shower or hits The Vandals-- Greatest hits
For Hardcore, either Eighteen Visions-- Lifeless(EP). That band had so much talent then they had to throw it all away and conform to Emosim, or Earth Crisis-- All out war, Zao-- All else failed, Raid-- Hands off the animals.

| I don't like hardcore music but my favorite punk album is "Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death" by Dead Kennedy's.
If SOD is hardcore, then they are my favorite. I've always just considered them thrash.

| Anything from Fugazi up to In On The Kill Taker. Steady Diet Of Nothing would probably be my choice as the favorite. I also love the Bad Brains. I Against I would be my favorite from them. Though I have to credit that first album as the thing that caused me to check out the whole hardcore/punk scene. Haven't listened to it in forever but I used to be really into Dag Nasty's Field Day. | |

Haven't listened to it in forever but I used to be really into Dag Nasty's Field Day. This whole post rocks. Fugazi would be my number one band for this genre. The 13 songs compilation of their first two ep's is a classic, never to be topped. Waiting Room, Bulldog Front, Bad Mouth, Margin Walker, Provisional.... all of them.... Minor Threat were good, but Fugazi was better, IMHO. Dag Nasty was another band I thought no one else but me knew about. Wig Out at Denko's was my fave. Other bands? How about GBH? City Babies Attacked By Rats and City Babies Revenge were the one's I was most familiar with. 7 Seconds was another cool one. New Wind especially was a great album.

| I think that Earth Crisis album is a MONSTER! I also enjoy: Cro-Mags - The Age Of Quarrel Agnostic Front - Cause For Alarm (though I'd say this falls into the Crossover catagory) Broken Bones - Losing Control (again, more Crossover) Gang Green - Older...Budweiser (trend? more Crossover than pure hardcore) _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me
