| These guys simply rock in my eyes. Songs like Sacred Ground, Times up, Pride, and Open Letter are some of my favorites. Any Fans? | |

| I'm a fan. They have some killer songs, but have never been consistent. I actually just picked up a single for "Auslander" the other day. It's got a great non-LP b-side called "17 Days." |

| I was really into them with that first album but probably over-played it cause I just never followed them after that. Thought it was great at the time though. I also loved their live cover of Tracy Chapman's "Talkin 'Bout A Revolution". I also remember everyone I knew that saw them open for the Stones on the Steel Wheels Tour came away big fans. | |

I like neither more than the other. I love the corkers like "Cult Of Personality" and "Type," but I also dig the funky, R&B-styled jams like "Love Rears Its Ugly Head" and the mellower tracks like "Pocket of Tears." No style matters as long as the track is good. |

I am like you i like all of it if its a good song, a lot of ppl seem to like the harder side of them over say the funk rock..

| Love Cult of Personality-one of my favorites of that era, especially the guitar solos. I actually have Vivid but I haven't listened to it that much-might break it out over the weekend and give it another spin without Cult of Personality (COP was just such an awesome song I really couldn't get into the others the first time I listened to it). I heard the first single off the Stain (don't remember the name-they had a music video for it on eMpTV) and remember liking it but that was almost 15 years ago. | |

| Yeah Cult Of Personality is a killer Zeppelinesque track with a great theme. If you like the soul/funk hard rock of these guys check out my Bellrays thread. | |

I saw that show too. I wouldn't say I came away as a fan though. I liked Cult of Personality, but don't really know much else. I thought the guitarist was pretty unique though.

So I've heard. I'll have to take your word on it however, as I am not familiar with Bad Brains.

They don't sound anything alike to me. The singers have completely different voices and styles. Might as well throw in Sevendust too.

| Living Colour is a tight band with some great songs. I enjoy the Vivid album the most, but enjoy some songs from their subsequent albums (Time's Up, Biscuits, Stain, Colleidocope). Solid cover of AC/DC's Back in Black on the Colleidoscope album. Vernon Reid's guitar playing shreds and I love Corey Glover's voice. Lajon from Sevendust reminds me somewhat of Corey Glover, not totally, just some aspects. Man now I gotta play some Cult of Personality | |

| I never thought Living Colour sounded like Bad Brains. Of course, I'm not a huge Bad Brains fan. |

There isn't that many all black bands out there that play hard rock/metal/punk so it's easy for people to compare bands by color association than music i guess.

| Anyone remember Spade Ghetto Destruction?
http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/--2156420
I used to have their lone EP (at least I think they only had one EP; I don't recognize the song in that video, though). No idea what happened to it. I might have to find it again. I remember it being kind of cool. |
