Loved the song back then, Kim Mitchell from Max Webster days!

When I think about Kim Mitchell (of Max Webster); I always think about the Canadian writer/reviewer Martin Popoff. He was absolutely bonkers about Max Webster, but then he usually took Canadian bands too personally. He either loved them or was way too critical of them. He thought Kim Mitchell was God. I've got Max Webster's "Best Of" and 3 or 4 other Kim Mitchell discs, and I gotta say I don't really get it. It's ok I guess. Ironically the ones I like best are the ones Popoff was disappointed in, after Mitchell went solo. Mitchell seems to have a lot of personality and a sense of fun like Todd Rundgren (doesn't sound anything like Todd though) but like Rundgren it seems like it's the sort of thing either you get or you don't. I get Rundgren, but Mitchell is pretty much lost on me for some reason.

This is the "Go For Soda" guy, right?
Had that album on vinyl back in the day.

I live in Canada. He was a household name up here in the 1980s and the start of the 1990s.
However, if one listened to my local classic rock station, one could get the impression that at the height of his fame, he was the biggest rock star in the world. I've heard so many people joke about their obsession with Kim Mitchell.

Funny how I just made a post about Kim Mitchell that pertained to my local classic rock station.
Today they played him on their request show, and then they played another request for him two songs later.
