Anyone heard of these guys? They're another retro-styled rock band. Roadrunner signed them at some point and they have an album coming out this month as a download, and on CD in May. About a year ago they had a self-titled EP available for free download, which is gone now. If anyone is interested I'll upload it.
Anyway, these guys have a Wolfmother sound, at least in the vocal department. I really dig them, even though Wolfmother has never impressed me much.
Here's some live/rehearsal clips (the first one is awesome!):

So much good rock music out there these days!

Yeah i love these guys, i discovered them a bit over a year ago when i found all these other bands like the Wildbirds, Dirty Sweet, The Coydogs, Delta Spirit etc. Their seems to be a great classic rock n' roll revival happening in the US.
The Parlor Mob remind me of Free for some reason just the sound.

It's cool that this retro trend continues, but I liked Heaven's Basement a lot more. I watched the first Parlor Mob clip there and I got a Zep feel from it (not a plus). I'm also luke warm on Wolfmother, but I enjoy the concept enough to give these guys a chance at least. Not gonna make up my mind based on a couple of songs.

I don't really think it's a trend. These bands have been around the entire time; labels and the mainstream media are just now giving them a bit of attention. But there are still plenty out there that are getting little to no attention.
One of the best CDs of this kind I've heard in the last few years is by a band called Levee. The CD is available on CD Baby for $5. By the time they released it they'd already broken up, so how many people are really going to hear this one? Probably very few. It's well worth it, though. Check out these samples:
1 Gotta Keep Movin' 2 Black Boots 3 9 to 5 4 Red Hot Love 5 Change Your Ways 6 All Night Long 7 Love Child 8 I Want You To Be Mine 9 Wild One 10 Lovin' For Free 11 Stormin' 12 Jackhammer
A great sleazy mix of blues and 70s rock. "Black Boots" is frickin' outstanding!

I've been looking, but honestly I keep forgetting what the complete band name is. Haha. I remembered Dirty, but forgot Sweet. I was looking at another CD by a band called Dirty Water the other day and almost took the $3.99 plunge. Haha. Something told me it was wrong, though.
I'm gonna go and actually listen to it now, that should etch it into my mind.

EDIT: I frickin' hate how crappy this forum is with translating code. The apostrophe in that link is what makes it look like that. Copy and paste, yo!
Another track from the album. Shows a different side to the band. This album is outstanding, by the way. It's been on non-stop rotation since I bought it.

BUMP!!
I was looking through a stack of cds in our audio room at work this morning. Most of them were crap compilations and hip-hop poop, but I found these guys tucked away in there. The name sounded vaguley familiar, so I pulled it. Good stuff.
I definatley hear a Wolfmother-vibe with these guys, both vocallay and the retro-rock sound. Both pluses in my book. *YOINK* It's now mine!

These guys apparently have a new album in the works. Check out a free sample here...
Sounds like a decent follow-up to their debut. If you liked that, this should be up your alley too.

I don't usually like these "retro" bands but I dig that song.

Their debut is pretty good. It still gets regular rotations from me. Maybe Eyesore can upload that ep again to give you a taste. I'm assuming that "Guest" from 2008 was him.

Love these cats. Really looking forward to this one. Although the new song does sound quite a bit more radio friendly.
And yeah, I think that was me who uploaded that EP. If anyone is interested, I can do it again.
Are the songs on the ep much different than the versions that winded up on the album?

I listened to the samples of "And You Were A Crow" on Amazon. Does this band really sound as much like Led Zeppelin as those sample lead me to believe?

I'd say they're not too far off. Especially on the slower, bluesier numbers. Somewhere between Zep and Wolfmother in my not-so-humble opinion. Thankfully, that's a combo I can live with.

Yeah, there's a Lep sound, but I wouldn't say it's huge. Wolfmother is a good comparison, though I think Parlor Mob are a bit more creative. Like on this track:
My favorite from the album. Kinda reminds me of this tune, though:
I bought the first Wolfmother and don't really like it. It's got too much of that sludgy Sabbathy vibe to it. I don't get that from The Parlor Mob at all.
