| I can't choose, I love both eras in different ways. The old stuff was more power and speed which I like while the new has more melody and harmony which I also like. Personally I don't care what it's called as long as the music moves me in one way or another. | |

| Of course I prefer the older stuff. But a lot of the newer stuff is pretty impressive. I don't mind the keyboards. My main complaint is that there is too much of it now to keep track of, and a lot of it sounds interchangable to me. As I said elsewhere, I've gotten really choosy about what I buy now. It's got to be quality and somewhat unique to make an impression on me anymore. It's not like the old stuff where I would buy ALL of it. | |

| You'll not see me getting personal over a musical disagreement. Roll your eyes all you like. | |

| The truth is the truth. You do belittle what you do not consider to be metal. Your definition of metal is narrow. You have no problem making very public opinions. Therefore there's nothing personal about it. Anyhow, you're acting like a total jerk!! | |

| I go by a band by band basis. There were some bands from the old era that were godlike, and some that were just utter garbage. Same with the modern era. In my view, the best ones are the ones that stand out. | |

| The old stuff by far for me, although a lot of the newer bands are good, they just don't have the in your face "umph" of those older bands. Metal is supposed to be fist-pumping-in-the-air tough. | |
