and for Slade: "Slade on Stage" "What Ever Happened To?" "Til Deaf Do Us Part" That Rainbow '73 album is fun as hell. They just blast through those songs - Steve Priest's backing vocals are insane. Brian Connoly screwing up the lyrics in the pre-chorus of Ballroom Blitz is pretty damn funny. I've never heard of that compilation you mentioned - will definitely have to check it out. Slade on stage is a killer live album. 'When I'm Dancing...' wins the favourite song choice for me (still haven't heard the studio version though - I don't have We'll Bring the House Down yet). I love what the re-issuers did in recently packaging all of Slade's live stuff on to that two-disc live anthology. | |

| How in THEE Hell did I not know that all these great songs were Sweet? I'd heard a bunch of these over the years, but just didn't know it was a band named Sweet. I need to get a one-stop-shop greatest hits of them. | |

| I had this disc at one time... http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sweet/dp/B000002UQF/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1454445467&sr=1-1&keywords=sweet
It's a pretty decent comp if you're looking for a cheapy hits package to get you started. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| That sucks!
I love Sweet. Desolation Boulevard is still a frequent spinner for me even after all these decades.

| RIP, sir. I have always joked that I have more Sweet songs in my collection as covers than originals. Talk about a testament to their influence of a lot of our faves. | |

I know exactly what you mean. I was never a big Thin Lizzy fan, but I have tons of TL covers in my collection. Or bands that sound like Thin Lizzy. That I'll listen to. But actual Thin Lizzy? Meh. On paper, Sweet should have been a slam dunk for me. I like a good power-pop rock band. But a greatest hits comp was all I ever desired. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
