| I love Dave, but the one problem with Dave is, he always considers himself the smartest person in the room. In most cases, that might be true. I think that Dave is one of those people who likes to hear himself...not that he won't listen to others, but look at Dave's facial expressions when someone says something that he feels is stupid or that he disagrees with. What's the old expression, "A picture is worth a thousand words". That can describe Dave in a nutshell; he always lets you know how he feels, whether it be spoken or from a look on his face. Here is a classic Dave Mustaine interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPj4u1waTF0&feature=related The last few seconds of this interview is absolutely hilarious, regarding "Countdown To Extinction" and it being the #2 record in the U.S, and what the #1 record was at the time. The interview is slow to boot itself up. | |

| I have to admit that I almost spit out my Diet Coke when I saw the title of this thread.... Dave is a legend in his own mind. Dave was important to the metal scene of the 80's...but not as much as he wishes. Dave's guitar playing skills are huge...but not as much as his ego. Dave recorded a couple classic metal albums, a couple good metal albums...and alot of . Dave seems like an interesting guy, but he needs to enroll himself in "shut up and play yer guitar 101"...there's still a vacant seat beside Ted Nugent. |

Can't hate him for saying truth.
Dudes, Dave goes out in front of Arenas, and plays his acoustic guitar for fans. He does shows all over the country, incuding AK and Hawaii. Hew talks to fans on his forum.
If Dave hates Lars, I don't care. Dave is a truthful person. Dave rules. I agree with Rich here

| Dave is a Metal legend period! His discography speaks for itself. UA is great. Having that sort of staying power thoughout 3 decades says a lot. In context of the interview he was stating the obvious compared to these other bands that hardly anyone has heard of especially outside of the metal scene. | |

| Megadeth is a legendary band, so while Dave Mustaine has an ego almost as big as Ted Nugent, his band has always featured great musicians and great music. I would consider Dave Mustaine a legend. | |

| Dave is a legend and other thrashers will aknowledge that. I think he likes to stir things up, maybe it helps him sleep at night. |

| Regardless of his musical talent, the fact that he views himself so highly is very annoying. He almost sees himself as god himself, like he's omniscient - he knows what's wrong with everyone else and isn't afraid of saying so. | |

| Oh yeah, it's comments like the one he made about the Dissection guy killing himself that stops me from believing that any kind of holy spirit can reside inside christians. | |

I am not a theologian but you can't dismiss all of Christianity because one guy makes a stupid comment regarding suicide.

It's not necessarily that - and I have no problem with christians or anything like that, I still have lots of christian friends and listen to christian metal, but I still think that if the spirit of the divine creator was to live inside christians they'd find it impossibly to make snidey comments about people dying.

| In my opinion, the only reason he's legend is because of his hatred of James and Lars, and that is very unfortunate. | |

I have to disagree completely here, the first few Megadeth albums speak completely for themselves when it comes down to it.

| He is a legend because of the music, his hatered of James and Lars is probably petty jealously or something to give to the press, so they have something to write about, IMO its more of the later. MEGADETH has been successful for over 20 years no need for him to be jealous of Metallica, it is not like he ended up washing dishes. | |

But in many Christian denominations/maybe all, they consider suicide a sin. So, in actuality suicide no matter what the reason is frowned upon. Many think their your soul will not enter the kingdom of heaven. I have no opinion on it one way or another, but I'm not surprise any God fearing individual with a Christian faith would sound off much different from that of Dave Mustaine.

What really pisses me off is when someone loses a loved one to suicide then some callous non feeling prick tells that person that their loved one is burning in hell. I consider myself a follower of Jesus Christ but that IMO is uncalled for REGUARDLESS!!!!!!! /end rant

/end rant Well, I certainly would never condone that type of behaviour out of anyone, but you probably would only see that behaviour from the fringe that represent the religious right. I don't have a problem with people who have that viewpoint that someone's soul won't enter the kingdom, as long as they don't attack use at some sort of personal attack. I think we've learned so much about mental illness, and what may drive an individual to commit suicide. That being said, I wonder if the church will ever change their opinion on the destination of one's soul when they take their own life? We now know that their are gene markers in which people are predisposed to certain cancers, homosexuality, alzheimers, autism, and for those who suffer depression (and the list goes on). If people are willing to except these scientific breakthroughs, maybe the church/religious folk alike will see depression for what it is (inherited in many instances).
