What are these, some of his paintings that I read so much about on Blabbermouth?

I'm no artist but I could paint nicer stuff than that with one hand tied behind my back.

Paul is a great singer,guitarist and leader bit OMG...He sucks at painting.

Yeah, his paintings. Now, I'm all about artistic freedom and such, but I think it's clear that painting is something Mr. Stanley does, not feels. There's a huge difference. This is kid's stuff. His Kiss member portraits are atrocious!

I actually like 1 and 3. I like what he's doing, it's a cool vibe. Yeah, I've read that there are quite a few who are turned off by the paintings. This is my favorite.

I'd love to hear him talk about his inspiration for these turds.

They look like paintings of hangovers.





Or maybe his offerings to the Porcelain God after the hangover.

Based on these pictures, I am now 100 percent sure, that Paul created his own mask back in the day.

I wouldn't be surprised if these were painted when he was 6 years old.

Since I do color correcting for fine art prints for a living, I've seen far worse than these. I actually like some of them.

Living in the Southwest I get tired of seeing paintings of indian, horses and cowboys. Thousands and thousands of them and they sell for thousands and thousands of dollars. Therefore, I dig the abstract nature of some of the paintings posted. I'm sure in person they are much more impressive, when you can see the brush strokes and the intricate details of the colors used and such. Hard to grasp all that from a low resolution, compressed jpg image.

As for the KISS portraits, they are certainly not bad. They probably look really impressive on the wall next to each other. The nature of JPGs make these almost look like water colors, which I assume they are not.

Has Paul ever painted a portrait of Eric Carr?

I read something on Blabbermouth about Paul's paintings and surprisingly enough, he sez that of all the prints he's sold of his art, the KISS portraits have sold the least. I found that kinda odd. You'd think the KISS Army members would be snapping them up like hot cakes.

art is different things to different people. to my eyes, these look no worse than the Mona Lisa.

The portraits aren't horrible, but the rest of the stuff? Please. If anyone is buying that junk for any other reason besides the fact that it was painted by a famous rock star, they're mentally disturbed.

The portraits show a bit of talent, and like Ult said, the jpgs
probably don't do them justice, but the grade school lettering on the
lyrics is reeeeeeealy bad. At the least, he could have gotten a sign
shop to give him a pounce pattern and done something that looked good.

That's my opinion anyways, but I know more about letting than fine art
anyways, so I'm probably too biased to give the lettering a fair shake.

True. But when I look at those paintings I don't get a vibe that he's a painter, just a guy who paints because he can. Does anyone have that "musician" friend that has a guitar and can play the first few riffs of tons of songs, but nothing else? He's not a musician no matter how much he says he is; he's just a dude with a guitar. I could be wrong, but I look at those paintings and just see a dude with some paint.
