Zombie Movie Recommendations

I love George Romero's Zombie series (NOTLD, Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead) sans Land of the Dead.

In your opinion, What are some great zombie movies other than the Romero "Living Dead" series?

Shaun Of The Dead

kind of an obvious choice... but how about White Zombie with Bela Legosi? i love those b&w classics.

Dead Alive

Now, this is pure cheese. Not scary but a hilarious gore fest. This line alone is worth it for me.

28 Days Later

Now this one I loved and it was scary (to me). The humans are not technically Zombies as in they are not the Undead but their desires, behavior and attributes are historically Zombie besides not being dead...

The newer 28 weeks later was more to my likings then 28 days later imo.

I like the Resident Evil's im a fool for them cuz i love the games..

I love I Am Legend awesome flick i just thought the Computer Animated Zombies looked a lil Unrealistic

Three words: HARD ROCK ZOMBIES

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island is a favorite of mine.

City Of The Living Dead (aka Gates Of Hell), Zombi 2 (or anything else by Fulci), Dead Alive (that zombie baby is another really memorable part), The Beyond, Hard Rock Zombies.

And of course you can't forget the original RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD

Now bear in mind that some of these are not quite cut and dry zombie films...but all are nifty...(* are particularly great)

I'm not a huge horror (or the zombie sub-genre) fan, but I'd have to go with one already mentioned - dawn of the dead (the original) is an all time classic

Dead Alive's original title, and also the one they used here in Norway, is Brain Dead! A much better title. Everything Peter Jackson have touched is gold, but that is another thread.

I hated Dead Alive.

In recent years, Flight of the Living Dead was good b-movie fun. I haven't seen Diary of the Dead yet, but I wanna see that one as well.

28 days later and play the Resident Evil Video games.

One of my all-time favorite movies of any genre - Evil Dead 2.

I can safely say I've probably seen that more times than any other movie.

-Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (great and very underrated)
-Zombi Holocaust (pretty good "Zombie 2" clone)
-Hell of the Living Dead (by master Bruno Mattei, pretty good in my opinion)
-Nightmare City (fast zombies like "28 Days Later" by cannibal movies director Umberto Lenzi)

Another vote for Dead Alive. But it's an absolute necessity to view the UNRATED version.

Planet Terror is another great one! Actually finally surpassed Dead Alive for goriest movie I've ever seen.

And if you're not afraid of subtitles, "Stacy" is a great Japanese zombie flick.

You're on crack. Dead Alive is classic; Three Stooges with blood.

BTW, avoid the sequel to 28 Days like the plague. Yeah, it's really gory but totally and completely plotless IMO. I hated it.

I still say "DEAD & BURIED" is a nifty little zombie flick....sorta.

Yeah, Dead & Buried is a great flick!

I saw that for the first time when I was in college. That opening sequence just really got under my skin...
