Dark Angel - The Atrocity Exhibition

As some of you may know, Dark Angel were working on a fifth album in 1992, before they split up. A demo was said to have been recorded, titled The Atrocity Exhibition (just like the Exodus album). However, not even all of Dark Angel heard the songs.

Has the demo ever been leaked to P2P programs? Has anyone heard the demo? What was the material like? Was it in the vein of Time Does Not Heal, or was it a change in sound? The demo was recorded in 1992, which is pretty much the year death metal overtook thrash as "the style of metal to play" in the underground. Most thrash bands that didn't split up either went in a "Black Album" direction or a "groove/post-thrash" sound in the vein of Pantera and Machine Head; hardly any bands played distinct thrash metal for several years.

So, what was it like? Is it worth checking out?

For a brief time i went to the same church as Ron in long beach, Ca. He is a real cool guy and i've seen him play with Oil and also a couple songs with Dark Angel at the Galaxy theater.

I really wish the Dark Angel reunion would have gone to it's completion. As it stands it was only a couple shows and the recording of a Metallica cover for a tribute CD. There were plans for a full tour and new CD, but it didn't pan out. Ron moved away from California and now lives in Washington.

Too bad Don Doty won't come back. Ron is a "technically" better vocalist, but if Ron can't perform...

why'd they break up anyways?

A friend of mine was talking about some Dark Angel demo from 1993 and according to him it was more in a "modern" direction.

I've heard some rumours that Ron has some kind of problems with his voice, so that's why they aren't back (yet); do you know anything more about it, ult?
