PostSubject: AC/DC   AC/DC Icon_minitimeTue Dec 11, 2007 12:42 am

I just got Highway To Hell and Dirty Deeds through SwapaCD. They were both supposed to be remasters. I thought all the remasters were digipacks. Dirty Deeds came as a digipack (and dirty as hell) and it had the 2003 copyright date on it. Highway To Hell came in a jewelcase, didn't look like a remaster at all and didn't have a copyright date aside from the original. The UPC on this one (075679241924) is listed on SwapaCD as a remaster; the same on half.com. Is that a remaster?

I'm looking for the most recent remaster. I have supposed remasters of Let There Be Rock (075679244529), '74 Jailbreak (696998020023), and The Razor's Edge (696998021327) coming to me as well. Are these the UPCs of the remasters? Can you guys who have them provide me with the UPCs of the other remasters?

And yeah, this is the first time I've ever heard these albums. Shocked I only had Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip before these.

All of the remasters are in digipack format, so that is weird. Does the Highway To Hell disc have a cover disc design on it? I believe it is flames?

Eh...that stinks. That one is listed, and 3 people are requesting it. Likey this is the actual remaster. I'm gonna be annoyed if the other versions I get are not the remasters.

I have all the digi remaster for trade, if you could ever come up with something decent.

Do the remasters sound much better? I have a lot of the older versions and I always thought they sounded fine.

Just louder, I assume. Remasters, to me, are largely pointless. Just turn the original up. The only time the originals suck is when you have a bunch of CDs on shuffle and they're so low compared to the others.

I think the easiest way to tell a remaster from an old CD is: the remasters (in digipacks) were released thru Epic Records. All their old stuff was released either thru Atlantic or Atco.

Cool. Thanks!

I really can't believe it took me until 2007 to really listen to these guys. These albums are killing me! I'm loving them.

That's my Handy Hint for the day. Hopefully it makes up for all the pointless crap that I've posted elsewhere around here today.

Because they signed a new record deal with Epic, but since they haven't actually released a NEW album under their banner yet, all of their old albums got overhauled, polished up and re-released in those cool little digi-paks.

So Blabbermouth is reporting that a new album will drop in April. Apparently they've been working Mutt Lange. Think that'll be good or bad? Mutt might not have the edge anymore.

Working with Mutt made a difference with Def Leppard, but no matter the producer, an AC/DC album sounds like and AC/DC album.

(now you've made me comma conscious)

I hope it is a good thing, maybe it will be another brian johnson era classic in the vein of back in black or for those about to rock, maybe he's tired of doing the country thing with his wife. I;ll pick it up when it comes out
