Sword - Metalized and Sweet Dreams have been re-released. Just received my new copies from Amazon today. The strange thing is that the printing dates on the cd's are of the original release dates. Does anyone know the deal with these cd's on Amazon.
Anyway, these cd's rock and as previously stated are great heavy metal. No idea why I didn't know about this band at the time. I remember seeing the metalized album once but for some reason didn't pick it up. Never heard of them again until recently. A hard band to track down. I can find very little on the band. It was luck that I saw them on Amazon, and when I did I didn't hesitate to jump on them this time.

I think they are nice looking boots, I believe made by "Unidisc". I got mine a few months ago. Either way, they are priced right and completely rock, so I am happy with my purchase.

Listening to Metalized now and the lead singer sounds like someone else that I can't quite put my finger on. Great disc too!! Classic metal.

I have both releases from the band. Fantastic albums from start to finish. This band should have been much more popular than they were.

Didja fergit aboot VoiVod, eh hoser?
Nah, even Voivod has a limited profile outside of the metal realm. Ask any schmoe on the street to name 3 Canadian music acts and it will be:
1. Rush 2. Celine Dion 3. tie - Barenakedladies/Bryan Adams

Shania Twain? There's a name I haven't heard in some time. Does she still perform? She running the Branson circuit these days?

Last I heard, she was divorced from Mutt Lange and still spendin' all the money she made from sellin' 75 million records, eh. That's a lotta maple syrup.

So I'm revisiting both Sword albums and just wondering if the members did anything noteworthy after the demise of Sword. Did they all just fade into Canadian obscurity?

After Sword had folded, vocalist Rick Hughes formed the band Saints & Sinners and released one album. I have no clue what happened with the other members.

Oh yea, I sorta-kinda remember them. They were more on the glammier side of things if I recall. I never would've made the connection though. A quick look on-line tells me that Saints & Sinners album is a pricey collectible these days too.

If anyone’s interested....they have a live CD out. Bought it faster than lightning. Tremendous capture. They were opening for Motorhead. Recorded on a 4 track cassette. Captured moment for you heavy duties !
Bought a Stonewall CD. 8 tracks. This was the 8th track. What a surprise ! Looked over at my cassette player in disbelief. Stonewall is a trio too. Not bad at all.

Stonewall is a great band. I own their latest album Never Fall.
Just heard a very recent interview with Rick Hughes. Sword is releasing another CD on combat. Next few months. He’s very happy with it. “ I’m In Control “ will be the title. It won’t touch the 80s of course. But it’ll a lot of fun to see where they’re at as a band.
