| So today I stopped by a record shop and saw a copy of the Trigger ep by in Flames for $3.99 and the it was 10% off. So (of course) it demanded my picking up and this is the first In Flames I've gotten and given a strong listen too. I'm really enjoying it. What would be suggestions of other In Flames cd's that'd be a good starting point for someone who will start listening to this band? |

| The Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony, & Clayman are their finest. after Clayman, they lightened their sound & commercialized a bit. i lost interest.
also thier Lunar Strain album is good, but i wouldn't start with that. _________________

| The Jester Race is the ONLY place to start! This album still kills. I never cared for anything after it though. | |

| I'm one of the few that has never been disappointed by In Flames since I began listening to them. I love this band, and I really don't think they changed as much as people think they have. Yes, there's more melody, more groove, but this is all typical of a band's music reflecting the evolution of its members. Let's not pretend that the band didn't start experimenting with this style on Whoracle, and even more on Colony and Clayman. The last three albums have all still been pretty heavy records; these albums owe their thanks to metalcore, of course, for becoming so popular. Had metalcore never blown up, In Flames would never have blown up; they would have never made the stupid video for "Touch Of Red," and they'd probably have a lot more old school fans still digging on their music. I'm always amazed at how perception can make people hear something different. People say they're nu-metal now! Hahaha! Nu-metal? Anyway, tirade aside; I recommend every album by them! I think they're all excellent. Favorite song: Ordinary Story |

| Yeah, what the mc said! But you sort of can't go all wrong with In Flames. One of my all time favorite bands. _________________ | |

| I liked em up to Reroute to Remain album - personally, this is my favorite IF album! However, I totally lost interest for them since Soundtrack was released. | |

Soundtrack was released. Just curious, but why? I mean, if Reroute To Remain is your favorite In Flames album, how can you not have any interest in Sountrack or Come Clarity? |

'Cause my opinion is, that they reached the top with RtR - they were constantly evolving and this is where they totally made it in my opinion . But, I felt that if this album was a bit more "evolved", then it would suck - and that happened with the next one, which is "over the top" in my opinion - they somehow lost control hehe

| Lunar Strain was OK, in my opinion. I LOVE Jester Race, and I really like Colony, Whoracle and Clayman. After that, meh. Don't really care for anything since. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

I also think Come Clarity sounds like it belongs between Clayman and Reroute. Have you heard it yet? |

No, but I accidently saw them twice in 2006 and they were playing a lot of new stuff, but it didn't do anything for me (even the old ones didn't do it anymore! )

| I really don't like this band. Have listened to at least a song or two off of all their albums, and haven't found anything enjoyable out it. |

| I've picked up a few IF discs over the years but the only one I bothered to keep was CLAYMAN. Love that one.
Saw'em open for Iced Earth back in 2002 and I gotta say, they lay down a pretty hefty KABOOM live, but on record, CLAYMAN is the only one that ever did much for me. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| In Flames is one of my favorite bands. They have no bad album they are all excellent. I've all their albums and 2 bootlegs. Saw them live 3 times, opening for Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and as headliner. I can tell you, that a headliner show of In Flames is incredible. Super lightshow, special effects and excellent sound and stage show. I can't wait for the new album that will come in April. I can't play the video as well, same issue as Kmorg had... strange... | |
