| I have been a metalhead my entire life & until today I never owned a Metallica album. I picked up Kill 'em All & Master of Puppets today for 2 bucks a piece & am going home, locking myself in the garage & listening to them both from beginning to end. | |

WHY WE GOTTA GET CONFINED TO THE GARAGE?!?! LOL. I've never owned a Metallica album either. Guess that void was always filled by Deliverance for me. Or a dozen other bands I was into during that time.

Hey, there's a ton of bands I've never owned albums by. Motorhead, for instance. |

| I had all Metallica albums on tape from Kill 'Em All to The Black Album. I later got the black album and And Justice For All on CD, but then Load came out and I was so disappointed in it that I never got the CDs. Then when I bacame a Christian, I dumped both CDs and until recently have only re- captured the Black Album (the rest are on my want list but I am waiting to find them used). | |

| I just traded and got several of the Metallica albums for the first time too. I'm like that with a lot of the bigger bands. I guess I have always figured that my friends have all that stuff, so I hear enough of it at their house, and I can always borrow it if I want to. So I pretty much concentate my collecting on more obscure stuff, especially since you can't always count on obscurities being in print or available when you want to buy them. The popular stuff will always be there for the asking. | |

| As far as I'm concerned, Metallica were killed in a plane crash during the AND JUSTICE FOR ALL tour and everything that's been released under their name since then has been recorded by bpdy-snatching impostors from outer space.
In other words, I shall listen to the first four Metallica albums exclusively for the rest of my life, live forever in the past, and LIKE it!

I didn't have any Metallica until 2006 when my buddy gave me Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning because he was clearing his space. I probably had heard every song 100 times over on those albums, but never had the albums myself.

| Is it really even possible to be over 30 and to have never owned a Metallica album before and be a metalhead? Seems to me like you should probably have your card revoked.

i'm not trying to sound like a dickhead or start a fight, but why? I'm not sure how it is in England, but in America Christians are constantly taught that all secular music is evil and you should only listen to Christian aritists. Many of us buy into that when we become Christians because that is what the majority of Protestants do. I couldn't quite grasp it but I accepted that I had to listen to less secular music and more CCM approved music. So for any album that I saw that contridicted my beliefs, I got rid of them and consentrated almost solely on getting Christian music. When I fell away from my faith I quit all that and got anything that caught my ear (same thing with my other entertainment choices) and when I came back to my faith I realized that my fall had nothing to do with what I listened to or watched (I fell while trying to stay away from a lot of secular entertainment). My fall had everyting to do with letting myself focus on what I shouldn't do instead of what I should do (I became a legalist, or someone who is so focused on obeying the rules that he forgets why he was obeying the rules in the first place). Since then I've regretted ever getting rid of those CDs and try to re-capture what I lost. Same thing happened to Ultmetal (as it does to many Christan metal heads) so he can attest to my predicament, except his collection was a greater loss than mine (I only had a little over 300 CDs at the time).

It doesn't bother me if you have 20 albums by them, I don't like 'em and that's it. I think it's all to do with who you grew up with, see you are in this digital age now where you can get an album with the chick of a mouse, back in the '80's or '90's it was harder and most of it was done the good old way by snail mail and you really formed a freindship with bands etc.... and music wasn't heard as easily as it is now but logging onto these internet radio sites, so word of mouth was the wayl back then. I myself said I didn't like Black Sabbath, they weren't thing "thing" when i was growing up so I was listening to the wave of Thrash / Speed / Glam that was around, when people said Black Sabbath were the Original Metal band and I listened to their stuff it bores me to no end, It just didn't compare to what I was listening to, Blessed Death, Overkill, Savatage etc.... I can actually stand the Dio era of Sabbath but the Ozzy years are brutal. . |

| And the funny thing is, back in the day people knew something about their favorite bands. These days, you ask people about their favorite bands and they're almost speechless. Why? Because it's cooler to say you like a band than to actually like a band.
Not everyone is like this, but hey, Maiden shirts are cool. |
