I hate the game personally. Besides the 80's edition which had Priest, Accept, and Maiden. Usually, the song selections on the game are terrible. Besides, I'd much rather play REAL guitar then a video game guitar, its much more worthwhile... Cool

Yeah I'm in that same boat. I try to buy as much music as i can but living in the middle of nowhere its rly bloody hard to get your hands on certain minor/small-label releases without turning up the big bucks.

And on top of that download has become such aconvenience

I mean I'd "like" to ride a bike or walk everywhere i go because its good for me and the planet but cars are just so much easier

Listen to all this "I play real guitar" bollocks! ha,ha,ha

It's only a video game for f*cks sake. Why do you people take it so personally.

Listen up folks, if this game gets metal to the masses then deal with it. M.etal should not be locked away for a select people to enjoy. Hell, even my dad plays guitar hero and has started to like some of the music. This game has started a revolution

Don't you find it a bit sad that you're 19 and you still live with your parents?
Anyway, GH isn't that bad. It's actually pretty fun. But it does piss me off when people think they know metal because they play GH. It's just sad. Metal's losing all it's independence because a bunch of 5th graders hear it on Guitar Hero. I swear, no kids would've even heard of Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer, Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, Anthrax, and Sabbath if it weren't for Guitar Hero. Now I truly don't like One and Hangar 18 because they're the only songs idiotic 5th graders know. And if you think Metallica's being won over by the dollar, here's a big surprise. Guitar Hero: Metallica's being released in 2009. Not kidding.

I think it's sad that you actually said that!! I know tons of ppl that lived with there parents and are welcomed to stay at that age so they can save up for a better future say College or a career move. That seemed disrespectful to me..

I'm sorry but you really do show your age with this statement and by that I mean imature and very naive.

I am getting really tired of people who only like metal because it's cool and no one else they know likes it and it gives them an identity. This is'nt the problem but then you get a select few of these people go off on one moaning when their favourite band/music becomes popular. SO WHAT. Surely this means more music by the bands we love.

It's close to impossible to move out of your parents' house around here until you're in your early twenties. I have no problem staying here, and having my parents buying stuff, and helping me out with schooling.

Yea that was pretty lame, the kid you're talking trash on could very well have a Ph.D in 6 years and you will still be doing whatever it is that makes you so awesome now.

Anyway, i see all the people that hate guitar hero are the same people that do not like bands after they gain popularity, its almost like the "indie music guy" of the metal world. Once a band or in this case a game gets a big following people start hating on it. I think it is great, as someone that loves metal/rock but really does not have the desire to play a guitar, this game lets me instantly have some fun with music besides just listining to it. At first I thought the game was stupid, but just give it a chance and you will get hooked. Plus kicking someones ass on Take This Life online feels really good.

Wow, what an idiotic thing to say. Everyone has unanimously scorned you for it, and rightly so. Get over yourself.

Wow, now I have to tell you how stupid the rest of you're post is. Kids do have the ability to hear that stuff without guitar hero. Why do I know and love most of the classic rock music from the 70's????? Not because I was there, its because my dad and his friends listened to it, I grew up on the smurf poo. My first time listening to the Blizzard of Oz was on Vinyl sometime when I was sorting through my father's records in the early ninties.

Could it possibly be that one of those kids dad is a metalhead? With a collection lying there for these young kids to tap into? The answer is yes.

Also I see nothing wrong with young 5th graders listening to it. Do you think they shouldn't and then metal can just die with everyone that already listens to it? Everyone has to start somewhere.

I love guitar hero, but I also play real guitar (not very good) but Guitar hero is just a video game and it's fun to play. It introduced me to a lot of great bands like White Zombie and Mountain that I didn't know about before. And yes, when you play it way too much, you look like a douchebag, but once again, it's just a game.
