- I like this album, but I am so sick of the way they have changed. Every single song on Dance of Death except 1 starts off slow and acoustic. Really angers me! They aren't that damn old that they have to constantly play slower than snails! I've been losing interest in their later stuff and my respect for them is dwindling.
I just gave the album a listen and I think you might be confusing things with A Matter of Life and Death, where every song does start off in pretty much the same vain. _________________

| I love that album. My favorite tracks are: Journeyman, Wildest Dreams, Rainmaker, No More Lies, Montsegur, Dance Of Death, and Face In The Sand (some of Nicko's finest drumming IMO). Yes the cover is mediocre compared to every other Maiden album cover but I don't see what people have against that album. These are my rankings:
1. Somewhere In Time 2. Seventh Son... 3. Fear Of The Dark (my first) 4. Powerslave 5. Piece Of Mind 6. Dance Of Death 7. Number Of The Beast 8. Killers 9. Brave New World 10. No Prayer For The Dying 11. X-Factor (the music not the vocals) 12. Iron Maiden (I know its a classic but I'm being honest here) 13. A Matter Of Life And Death (taking time to grow on me) 14. Virtual XI
Although I like all of their albums (Maiden can do no wrong in my mind).

- I really think the true Maiden discography should start with Number. The first 2 albums just sound like the best general NWOBH that was out at the time, and nothing else. I haven't listened to either for years.
Cut this crap talk out junior! You're pissin me off! Anyone who thinks the Maiden catalog should start after Killers is nothing but a snot-nosed little punk.

| For some reason I see a lot of charm in "Dance of Death". I reach for that disc first when I want to hear some Iron Maiden. I really think they have become quite seasoned in their old age. Many bands sound worse, but IM is like fine wine. It gets better with time. |
